Yes and same price via Amazon just now, worth keeping an eye on Amazon though as price has fluctuated a bit over last month or so. I bought it last month for £189.77 from them, filled out the Canon claim and the £25 was in my account within a few weeks.

Fair enough, thought it was handy the cash back was applied at the checkout but can see now you can get it cheaper if you are willing to wait for the cash back.

you are the one asking for help here - its a 10-18mm lens
if that doesn't mean anything to you then probably read up some
its a wide angle zoom so its best for things you need a wide angle zoom, usually landscape architecture etc but can be anything

Actually it's not a daft question. After all, lenses (and other camera gear) aren't designed for an absolute single use. If you think they are then please do some reading up. What's wrong with people asking about & sharing photography experience with different kit?

Oh, and if you go back and re-read my original question, I asked what the lens is best used for. You answered with "taking pictures" when in actual fact, the camera takes the pictures. Not the lens. So I agree, your answer was a daft answer...buddy.
