The EF 28-135mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM offers a 5x zoom range, from wide angle to telephoto. The lens also features Image Stabilization and is compact and lightweight, making it suitable for everyday use.

Three-stop Image Stabilizer
Fast, quiet autofocus
Super Spectra coating
Circular aperture for pleasing background blur
Passes distance information to E-TTL II
Optional lens hood

The ideal everyday standard zoom lens.

Image Stabilizer
A three-stop Image Stabilizer enables hand-held shooting in low light conditions, even at the telephoto end of the zoom scale. Handy for taking pictures when the use of a flash or tripod is not allowed.

Ultrasonic focusing
A ring-type ultrasonic motor drives autofocus extremely quickly, and in near silence. Excellent holding torque ensures the point of focus is reached accurately, without overshooting. Furthermore, full-time manual override is available, making it possible to adjust focus without leaving AF mode.

Super Spectra coating
Super Spectra coatings ensure accurate colour balance and enhance contrast. They also reduce flare and ghosting – a common problem caused by light bouncing off a camera's sensor.

Very good price for in UK new. But not voting. This was the kit lens Canon bundled for a few years and ebay normally has a load of these used for around £200, people buy one, use it for a bit, realise it's fairly average or not wide enough on a crop sensor and then sell.

Was a good lens as cheaper full frame zoom back in the film days when it was launched.
imho, £300 is still quite a lot for what can probably be considered an average lens
