Put the £60 towards a 55-250mm, far better lens

Isn't the same one for £319 in John Lewis?

I believe the difference with the currys deal is that you get an additional lens (75-300).

Considering I had to buy a decent camera beforw 3rd June for my daughter's 1st b'day party.
I still think this is a better deal.

I think this is the one mentioned https://www.e-infin.com/uk/item/1438/canon_ef-s_55-250mm_f/4-5.6_is_ii_zoom_lens_(white_box)?gclid=CjwKEAjw9_jJBRCXycSarr3csWcSJABthk07ttwG8wlddqt-GIe_Fyn02E8mJKDlY0InT8oWPm4-bBoCK6rw_wcB

75 300 lens is awful

There is also a package for this camera with the image stabilised lens. IMO you would be better off buying that.
Amazon have both packages for similar prices

I have this lens purchased from here eglobalcentral.co.uk/can…tml
I know it's a grey import but for £110 delivered seems like a bargain to me. Mine came as it would of if you bought it from the UK (original packaging) within the week with fully tracked delivery. Some may say there is no Canon warranty but eglobal provide their own for what it's worth. Hope this helps.

It's a telephoto zoom lens which means it is mainly suited to taking photos of distant objects/animals etc. where you need to "zoom in", rather than being for general purpose photography.

However this particular lens is old and basic, it comes from a time when Canon's budget lenses were mostly rubbish.

There are several versions of the 55-250 lens mentioned but the second one (indicated by the II in the name) and the newer but more expensive STM version are both commonly available and can give great results. Compared to the 75-300 they are sharper but they also have the benefit of "image stabilisation" which means that the effects of camera shake are reduced. This is particularly relevant on a lens like this where even a tiny movement could cause blur.

Can you post a link I just cant find them on amazon - thanks

Another vote for staying away from the 75-300mm lens, it's awful and isn't stabilised. Skip the bundle, get a normal kit and save the change towards the 55-250mm IS STM or even the older 55-250mm IS II, both of which are tack sharp.

You can get the 55-250 IS STM from Amazon for £135.

if you ask a proper question you would be more likely to get a proper response
is it 'good'? sure
is it bad? yep that as well
you give no context for comparison
certain bundles are ok but are great if they are cheap
certain lenses are great but if you are paying over the odds then its a poor buy
you could always look at reviews if you cant think of the right questions or even be bothered to link the thing you are talking about

Ok, great it appears you are capable of having a sensible conversation at last rather than posting meaningless comments.
I like the camera. Its within my budget but there seem to be a variety of different lens combos that come with it ranging from £300 to £380. As for linking the camera (or thing as you refer to it as) If you re-read my post you can clearly see I've stated that its from John Lewis and listed the lenses that it comes with. Let me know if you need anymore assistance with searching the john lewis website...

but as you didn't bother linking the john lewis bundle or even supply a price you ignored the point i made or maybe you expect me to do the work of looking for the info and then giving advice?
you are still not even actually asking a relevant question

the only one without everyone bending over backwards to do everything for you is 'it depends'

Why should I link the JL bundle so you can see the price when the question I asked had no reference to the price. My question was based upon the bundle. Previous posts had stated that some canon lenses were older and of a lesser standard than some of the newer lenses. The amount of wasted time and effort you have expelled posting on this deal far out weigh the time it would have taken you to take a look on the JL website yourself or maybe just ask me how much it was. I often wonder how rude and arrogant people like you would be if we had the opportunity to meet face to face.
