Hi,

Don't know much about cameras but thought I'd get your wisdom as this seems like a good deal for an entry level, beginner use.

Info: canon.co.uk/cam…0d/

My intention is to start of with this for a year or two and then move up to something more better later down the line. This has WiFi and can connect to your phone too for fast sharing and selfies.

They also have the 800d for those that want more and can afford the money @ £395.99 (CANON EOS 800D & EF-S 18-55 IS STM)

Link: ebay.co.uk/itm…gIS

Hope this helps and thanks for looking

A quick glance at camerapricebuster shows me its 269 in Clifton cameras, as a reference price, and this is cheaper than I can see it's ever been. For 209, I'd suggest you cant go wrong. Add a 50mm f1.8 when funds allow and you've a very capable kit for no money (in camera terms). Learn the skill, understand the limitations of this camera, then upgrade later understanding what you're paying for. Your logic seems refreshingly sensible to me.

I’m assuming that this is a grey import so the canon warranty will not be honoured. But good price if you’re willing to take the chance on it
i have same camera, and total novice and use on auto, ive had lots of compliments on my photos, love it, easy to use and looks the part.
Plastic lens mount is a deal breaker, unless you don’t intend to swap lenses.

Yes, metal is preferable. But even then, it's a smooth metal lens mount sliding against a smooth plastic body mount...

But most of the cheaper lower end bodies are made of plastic

Well exactly 🏻. I've owned plastic and metal cameras. Never had a camera where mount or body material made a difference to image quality.
