this was £549 instore at Jessops 2 weeks ago. Very pleased with it so far.

Lovely camera - if you're uberkeen and have a little bit more money then maybe worth splashing out on the (upcoming) 600D or 60D which has the invaluable flip screen - this really makes a difference to composing.

However at this price to have the 75-300 Canon Lens thrown in is very good. A good package.

How much is the lens worth?
I grabbed this camera for £450 2nd hand off amazon last week.

Why are they bundling this with the pants non-IS version of the 18-55mm

is this a non-is 18-55mm ?
is this the poor non-is 75-300mm ?

spend more get better lenses

Got one of these its a very good camera, the 18-55mm is good, byt the 75-300 is S*** :-(, IMO better off buying without the second lens for £470.00, and spending the other £110 getting a usefull lens like either Tamron 18-200 for £130 if you need a big zoom or better yet something like the alround Canon EF 50 mm f/1.8 II Lens for £88.00 on amazon (really a great lens no-one with this camera should be without.

I've also got this camera although just traded up from the 18-55 IS and 75-300 non IS to 24-105 L series and 70-200 L series.
As far as the 18-55 goes you really shouldn't need IS for much anyway but the 75-300 at the longer focal lengths and smaller apertures you really will see a difference if hand held. So as others say, maybe get the body on it's own or with the 18-55 then look at alternative zoom lenses. Maybe the 55-250 IS if on a budget.
