would you mind telling us from where?

This is the cheapest price listed by camerapricebuster, which details pretty much all reputable dealers. Any cheaper and it'll be a grey import (with no EU warranty) or from a Hong Kong supplier, which the risk of additional import charges.

uoups I pressed the like this icon not the reply. . .camera price buster don't list all the retailers / sellers if you do a search you will see many companies sell far less even now I can see on the net now cameras from £439, £449, £475 we seem to have the same old conversation regarding warranties most retailers offer a RTB warranty and they are all UK based retailers selling under uk laws and when you buy all tax and duties are paid, just like any other retailer the camera is made in same factory it just bought from different canon distributor. the warranty is for one year( some offer more), at the end of one year you have to pay for repairs where and who ever you bought from, and just like many companies such and Nokia, Sony etc, they have appointed services centers who service and repair equipment.. .. but if you are not happy with such warranty you can buy your own from a insurance company

I did post this but was delete by Admin as the seller was not deemed by Amin not to have a good sales record ( he had two negative feed backs for camera out of stock and having to give refunds ) there could have been a very good reason for not having camera in stock he could have sold it from he's retail store in the meantime someone on net had ordered who knows.
I Iive in N.I. and send email asking him what the extra p&p charge would be, within one hour replied so I placed my order it came next day had 5 when I ordered now I see he has none

gl if anything goes wrong may have to send it to japan to get it repaired. still stand by my find that it's the cheapest by a REPUTABLE seller with UK warranty

by the way I have searched and yes you can get the camera cheaper but they're all imports try emailing them as they don't state this on their website. Research before buying is very important

Every camera is imported . . email them asking what warranty they offer. . see what the say , see how long they take to reply to your email .. if your not happy don't buy. The last two cameras I bought was from a "grey" retailer (uk Based) one has sales in eccess of 148,000 . .
But this is a great camera even though I have a 400D & 450D this is far the best not withstanding that its a 18mpx its very clear, sharp and quick
In fact what about this one NEW CANON EOS REBEL T2i/550D DSLR CAMERA 3 LENS KIT+8GB for £539 + p&p great for someone starting . . but am sure there would be some even cheaper

Original Poster

sorry should have said grey imports , I know canon cameras aren't made in the uk. as said good luck with yours, . if you do have a link for a canon uk warrantied eos trod body only for less than the deal posted then please post a link, as I think most people here know this can be had cheaper from eBay or other sellers who import them with no canon uk warranty.

600D just annouced, wait a little while this will drop more

£526 for me.

ok just been on to a insurance company who will cover warranty for £25 a year so what more could you ask for

it depends what the yen, us dollar and uk pound are and the supply of the goods for the grey imports prices

procamerashop.co.uk have it for £504.99 delivered. Also have 3% off if you pay by direct bank transfer, making it £489.85, or is that a grey import?

No its not a grey import but bank transferrer is not a good way, I think you will find that money will come out of your account a while before it goes in the the sellers account ( maybe delivery delayed) where as the card or paypal will take time to come from your account but dealer is notified that your payment has been made plus you have the extra peace of mind that if there is a problem you can ask the card company or paypal for help

The reason Camera Price Buster doesn't list those cheaper sellers is because they're scams or grey market.

Two issues with grey market sellers: Bad or no warranty. You will pay duty on the import.

After you figure out the duty it is rarely worth while with most of the eBay HK imports. If they already have the item in the UK and are selling it as grey market product then it is your call how much warranty service is worth to you.

I've never seen a grey market camera that was worth while. £35 off for no useful warranty on a £500 camera? Uhh no thank you.

+1 plus amazon returns policy is probably the best of any retailers .period

Well I guess it your loss all I can say is I paid over £100 less for my camera don't care if it black white or grey hey I even bought a maza car ( IMPORTED) even better spec than UK one
but I don't see an problems with "Grey" now that you can get warranty for any product from insurance company.
Its about time UK retailers stopped over charging for such products long live the "grey" seller

Nice find nomeames....plus 3.03% cashback from TCB as well. Geez, don't really want to be tempted with this :s

Anyone looking to buy any Canon kit needs to go to the Focus On Imaging show at the NEC in about a weeks time.
Canon UK sell a lot of their refurbished stock through Jacobs at VERY good prices.

Bought my 7D from them at last years show for £999.00
Still way cheaper than you can get it for right now, a year on.
Happy Days !

Been wanting one for ages.Then realised I don't need 550D - I need something portable. Nokia N8 kicks ****.

Sorry to side track this offer. Just wonder if anyone can comment whether it's really worth going from the 450D (what I have now) to a 550D. I don't really need the video option as I have separate HD camcorder, just sooooo tempted atm :p.

Thanks in advance

Upgrading a lens will give you a better image quality - so if that's what you are interested in the answer is NO

Thanks for that RK5. Just what I need to hear :).

Got a pair of pretty good lenses atm - Canon 17-55m and the Tamron 18-270mm for walkabout. Just saved me a few hundred quids :).

Price: £526.97 & this item Delivered FREE in the UK with Super Saver Delivery

i guess it's expired

Hmmm, might have to attend the show and pick up a good bargain, though not keen on a refurbished product....

The only good thing about this deal is that is body only. The 18mm-55mm Canon kit lens is a dog. Take you £500 and head to Nikon country imo, D5000 + D3100 's floating around for significantly less than this atm.

I had reservations as well.
The refurbish products come and feel brand new. Mine had 17 frame count recorded.
Before I bought my 7D I spoke to a couple of people at the show I know (one works for Jacobs, the other for Experience Seminars) about what Canon refurbished actually means. None of it is faulty - return - repair. It's all kit that's been out on demonstrations at shops, shows, media. Canon then take it back, clean it up, make sure its complete and .. sell it as refurbished. At worst, a some of the boxes looked a little dog-eared around the edges.
I'm going back this year to buy a 24-70

£10 on the day and £8 if booked online, and another £8 for parking right?

I also noticed that Canon is not under the exhibitors list, but Nikon will be there.

also the travel cost, may not be worth it if your sole intention is to pick up a camera on the cheap

I get in for free.
simple enough to get a free show pass. You just need to be a photographic or imaging professional, or one of the other listed criteria. I'm sure you can tick one of the boxes

Yes it is £8 to park. But if there's more than one in the car it isnt so bad.
Or you could get the train. The NEC has it's own station.

I saved about £300 on the camera.
Also bought a graphics tablet which was around £120 saving.
So ... travel costs well and truly covered
