EOS 550D
Canon is once again breaking new ground in the world of digital SLR photography with its powerful EOS 550D. It is a camera which makes outstanding creativity and exceptional versatility easier to achieve than ever before.

Boasting the kind of top end features usually found in semi-professional SLRs within a compact, lightweight and easy-to-handle body, the Canon EOS 550D combines superior imaging technology with full HD movie capture capability.

The EOS 550D packs a huge 18-megapixel sensor for super-fine images which can be enlarged up to poster size without any loss of quality. Canon’s advanced DIGIC 4 processor ensures lightning-fast start-up times, near-instant image review and grain-free photography. Fantastic reproduction of colours and subtle tonal gradations make this ideal for keen amateurs who want the best.

Meanwhile, the already impressive ISO of the EOS 550D is expandable up to 12,800 for the ultimate in dawn-‘til-dusk photography.

Canon’s 9-point auto-focus system with f/2.8 cross-type sensors offers brilliant clarity and accuracy across the frame, ensuring every point of every picture is pin-sharp.

And quick-fire 3.7 frame-per-second shooting enables superb split-second control with great accuracy.

What’s more, the Canon EOS 550D’s iFCL metering system adds an extra dimension previously only seen on more professional models – now it’s put in the hands of the serious amateur, allowing for extra experimentation in tricky conditions.

Knowing what’s in the frame is all important for this level of creative photography, and the EOS 550D’s 3in Clear View LCD screen with 1,040k dot resolution reveals 100% of captured images – with no unwelcome surprises or distortion. The anti-reflective coating means viewing is easy even in bright sunlight and from a range of angles.

And for those keen to bring their imaging armoury bang up to date, full HD movie capability opens up a whole new creative dimension for image lovers – and means a camcorder is no longer an absolute essential for the kitbag.

The Canon EOS 550D has an integrated high definition multi-media interface (HDMI) port, allowing video and images to be easily viewed on any HD-ready television – and even controlled with the TV remote – while content can also be transferred wirelessly thanks to the built-in Eye-Fi functions.

All wrapped up in a rugged, weather-proof stainless steel and polycarbonate resin body, the Canon EOS 550D is ready for anything. .

Amazon are selling this for £557.99 plus £30 cashback from Canon.

Only if you want to wait 1-3 months. It is cheaper here though - camerabox.co.uk/pro…811

Why's this considered a "good" deal ?

They also have the 500d + two lens for same price.

Amazon link is confusing - I wonder why the cheapest price from Amazon isn't shown as the main offer?! - probably because it's not in stock.

Amazon link (when you find it!) is cheaper than camerabox link, but you may have to wait.

Camerabox have sold lots of grey imports before, but at least they specify this particular model as UK and eligible for the cashback.

Jessops is convenient as you can pick up in-store and buy from people you may know - but it's not the cheapest.

Dixon had it for £569 before cashback and a £30 off voucher then you got the £30 cashback plus some quidco too just last week. I manages to order at Dixons but hey are now saying out of stock. This deal is cold in comparison but best deal at the moment really unless you wait ages at Amazon
