Hi please don't include retrospective cashbacks in the deal price - the price quoted should be the price you pay to actually purchase the item and this is £2249 before discount codes are applied not £1999, thanks

You pay £1999.00 using code CANON5D & then you claim a futher £250.00 from Canon directly.

saw for the same price but with lens in High street Kensington Currys...

Great price, not much more than importing now. CameraWorld in London are also doing it slightly cheaper too (£1698 after the voucher and cashback)

Must resist :-)

with all these 250 off codes and 250 cash back, should we expect a 5d mk 4 anytime soon?

My guess is late Summer/Autumn. Lots of rumors about spec and a separate model (5D4c) for video.....

I wouldn't even spend that amount on a car. ...Some people must have got their money way too easily if they can happily spend this much on a camera ...

then why bother even clicking on the deal, let alone post a comment.

We need to post a deal on a Hasselblad H5D or Pentax 645z for this guy to enjoy.

Spotted this earlier on Jessops. , was close to buying this yesterday for full price but held off as could not decide between this and 6d. Just jumped on this, as currys have now reduced this to 2k I ordered from there with the 5 year warranty. (Paying for warranty over 10 months). With two young kids the accidental damage was a must, not that I have ever broken anything in my life.

You may be able to use priority moments in store if you find a helpful assistant :-). £1675 for this camera is a bargain.

I am wondering if it's going to be the 6dmk2 arriving with specs similar to the 5d. Although the plan is for the 5dmk3 to run along side the 5ds

This was £1700 with discount codes a couple of months ago.

I personally would have expected a bigger drop here; given the 5DS and 5DSR are now fully in stock.

Those are going to run along side the 5dmk3. The 5ds is not really suitable for fast photography and low light. More built to be amazing in a studio.

Jessops might have screwed up here on one of the kits, so be quick! The 5DIII + 24-105L kit is now available for £1999 after the cashback. Effectively you're getting the excellent 24-105L lens for £250.

http://www.jessops.com/online.store/categories/products/canon/eos-5d-mkiii-digital-slr-camera-24-105mm-lens-84405/show.html

EDIT: haha, yes it was a screw-up. Now back to £2249. Let's see if they honour my collect in store tomorrow!

EDIT 2: Cool - they honoured the mistake when I collected it today. Not sure if I should be happy I saved another £250 or depressed that I've just spent £2000!

According to the T&C, Dixons Travel stores are excluded: canon.co.uk/spr…ck/ - did it say otherwise in the actual store?

pjn - thanks for that, you are correct according to the T&C's. My mistake

Good price for UK sourced stock, but you can get the same camera from Panamoz.com (a highly regarded grey importer) for £1504. Panamoz also offer a 3-year UK based return+repair/replace warranty.

How is this a deal when so many other stores are selling it at the same price?

Digital Depot
Calumet
Wex Photographic
Clifton Cameras
Dale Photographic
Park Cameras
Camera Centre UK
John Lewis (with price match)

This appears to be the new selling price for the camera and not a deal at all.

£250.00 off makes it a deal.

Great deal on a superb camera. Would buy if I wasn't already over the moon with my EOS6D

People are allowed to comment on items are they not? IMO its a valid point, inflated price unless you believe the magazines, then you NEED this.

I'd disagree and say it should be classed as a deal. The cashback might have been around for a while now, but the additional £250 voucher code is a week-long UK-wide deal. From next week the price will increase again. And the cashback offer will have ended.

I Hate it when poor people post stuff like this.

Haha to be fair to the bloke who's being slated, I only paid £900 for my car but I'm very tempted by this camera, specially if I could get a Jessops 0% finance option and pay it off over a year with a chunky deposit down. Couldn't justify spending this much jn one go, if I were a photographer who would make money from the offset it's an investment but for Us average joes it's quite a big spend.

My camera and lenses are worth more then my car...... however saying that my car is a very old

Another one for the camera>car club. Drive an old banger and have a FF (6D) and lots of L lenses.
Easily justifiable because my car takes rubbish photos.

What a bitter comment and pointless. You clearly have no understanding of photography at this end of the spectrum. You have a different opinion, yes, but it's based on ignorance and bitterness. While you'll get one or two peeps with money who buy a camera like this with no idea what to do with it, most would have saved up. I know a friend that took years of saving to buy their first full frame slr. Why? Because they LOVE photography.

It's Canon's top model of DSLR, so it's for professionals. The majority of people investing in this will most likely make the money back from using it for work.
