In case anyone isn't aware TobyDeals supply grey imported stock.

This or the A7 mark 3? As a causal user looking to get into photography.

Get a 2nd hand 5D for about £250 and learn the basics. Once your comfortable and know the type of photography your going to be doing get the camera that suits - no doubt be newer models by then. All IMHO of course.

Any idea what this would mean with a warranty?
Op, have you used this company before?

Basically Toby's mate down the road will "fix" it if anything goes wrong in the first 12 months

A bit of scary fluff about dodgy cables and the like, but the key bit seems to be you don't get UK warranty from Canon. So you're left to deal with TobyDeals or whoever.

There are grey import specialists like Panamoz who I think have a good reputation for warranty claims, but eglobal and TobyDeals are a pain to deal with, I believe. There's the option of resorting to S75 if it all goes badly wrong.

Having said that, at a saving of about £600 from the UK price, if you're after this camera, it's a risk worth taking in my opinion. You could just buy another one and not be too badly in the red.

yeah I got a Zhiyun Crane from them before, 100% legit.
Good price so heat added but the mk2 Is a step backwards from the mk1
Bought my 6D MK1 from HDEW. They are UK and sell grey imports, but offer a 3 year warranty free on the 6D MK2. It's £1039 but i would definitely buy from them again.

In what way? I have the first one, I wouldn't upgrade to this one but there a few things that would be nice to have like the extra focal points.

Panamoz is £1045 with 3 years warranty and a very well trusted company. My 5div came from them. Highly recommended.

The mark one is a lot worse. No phase detect autofocus, no flipping screen, less autofocus points, etc.

A warranty is the least of your worries. You'll be doing well if you get your camera in the first place.

Second this or get a crop sensor? A7iii trumps this if you’re gonna do video too but as a noob you’d be better getting a 5d or mk ii or a cheaper crop (650d, a6000 if Sony)
The original MkI 6D is on sale in the UK with prices as low as £879. It's reckoned to be the better camera as Canon hobbled the MkII because the MkI was stealing sales from the senior 5D Camera body as image quality was so similar.

Bought a Nikon d7200 from HDEW and similarly impressed with process including after sales queries (never tested the warranty it came with though).

Fair point.

Bought a google pixel from them 2 weeks ago on a hukd deal and it arrived within 10 days. Many hukd members bought the same deal from Toby and reported back about the product positively..
I bought Garmin Fenix 5X from Toby Deals and registered to my address in the UK. When I called Garmin UK customer services, I found out I still have six more months on warranty. It depends on the company I presume

No flipping screen? That’s un flipping acceptable
This is a good deal, as it's a big discount on the UK price. I wouldn't go for it though, I'd get a UK warrantied, excellent condition 6d Mk1 from MPB photographic instead. Excellent to deal with, and the 6d Mk1 is very little different to the Mk2.

On the subject of the camera, I have both a 6d and 5d, and prefer the 6d, although both are excellent. The equivalents from Sony and Nikon are also outstanding, with some pros and cons, but they're all so good that which you prefer tends to be a matter of personal preference. However, there are a couple of things to think about. Nikon is not in good shape financially and there is a possibility it may go under. Sony is a huge and wealthy corporation (like Canon), so no such worries there. But Canon offer a wider range of lenses, available at relatively affordable prices. That's why I bought Canon.

A pointer for the questions about beginner photography. This is an excellent camera, and it can be used by beginners, but it's not ideal, as it is big, heavy, expensive and has no on board flash. For someone who's never used a DSLR before a crop sensor model like a 600d could be bought used with lens for a couple of hundred quid. You could then get most of that back if you moved on, or got bored with it. Probably a better option than diving in at the deep end with a costly full frame model.
I have mark iii. I want to sale it on ebay. Any idea what price i should put ?
if your a student and have an account on UNIDAYS, there's a 15% discount on any canon stuff at the moment for a limited time. I know it's nothing compared to the price of £920 but at least it's from canon directly.

Well the A7 III destroys the 6D MkII in almost all areas (and most other DSLRs TBH), but it is obviously more expensive too.

That doesn't mean to say it's the best camera for a beginner, but it you have money to burn, then you can't go wrong with it either.
Once you get up to the quality of a full frame DSLR from any of the big manufacturers the rate-limiting step in terms of quality of output is not the camera, it's the photographer.
Looking at the price of a 5D IV , in the UK from Jessops its £3200, and on digitalrev.com (Imported) its only £1800! Its crazy how much extra you pay over here.... I bought my 6D and 5DIII from Digital rev and received them within 2-3 days! and never had a problem with them.

Not in video, don't a bunch use contest detect?
