Great price. Think I bought one for my former assistant for £4299 at the Photography show a couple of months ago (Normal price). It is a great photography camera. I would probably say the best photographic mirrorless camera on the market, with very good ergonomics, AF and a much-improved sensor with good dynamic range compared to the Canon R and 5Dmk4. Video has improved since release due to firmware updates.

The only downside is Canon stopping 3rd party lenses being used on the system.
Agreed. Awesome camera, but way out of my budget (just bought the R6 from CameraWorld, which was a stretch). The UK price has always been a bit toxic, especially compared to the US, but this is a bit better. Personally, I'd still get one from Panamoz for under £2900, but not everyone is happy with grey imports.

As for the lenses, that's a horrible decision by Canon. The kind of closed ecosystem championed by Apple is the worst kind of consumerism, but it's being taken up by companies like Canon and Synology, for example. Fortunately, there's no greater line-up of lenses than Canon's own EF glass, and they work perfectly when adapted.

I bought one when they were first released, grey market, and went on very rapidly to add RF lenses. I’ve owned many cameras and lenses over the years but this is hands down the best I’ve ever used. In combination with the RF100-500 it’s my go to birding lens and the RF100mm macro is awesome for insects.

This or Sony ar7 V? With own brand 24-70 f2.8 about same price. If my missus reads this I’m asking for a friend …
I've read that the resolution is so high that bringing up shadows shows visible noise in the Sony A7R V.
I've just invested in the R5 with 2 wide angled lenses. The reviews for the R5 are very favourable. Also the R5 Mk II is rumored to arrive in Q2 of 2023.

Thanks ....dithering... ...the small and light (relatively) of the Sony is the main appeal... got to lug it up mountains with just a 24-70 f2.8 and the Sony lens is 200grams lighter and fraction cheaper. But canon official or grey body is cheaper and dont need more than 45mp ... (edited)
