The reviews seem to suggest that it's not that great in low light but to be honest I think that's the case with most camcorders. I'm seriously considering getting this wee camcorder.

Does anyone have any final thoughts or other recommendations before I take the plunge and order it?

Och, I just went for it. Seems like a good deal. Heat and Rep added for you Vol40. Thanks

heat and rep, very tempted

Can anyone who's a bit camcorder savvy give opinions please, between this Canon and the JVC here

cheers

Was looking at this very one on play about a week ago, so tempted now. Off to America soon and not sure if its worth hanging on untill ive read some propper reviews and just pick up one over there for the same price.

why is this expired when it hasn't expired?

I ordered one of these this morning, and just ordered another for someone else. Not sure why its been marked expired, as it was the same price.
Oddly the quidco is based on £168 and not the £198 that you actualy pay Jessops.

Noticed that happening a lot on this site, very annoying, shame it cant be unexpired, maybe contact a mod.

Anyway ive ordered this now for my grandparents. picked up a 16GB class 6 SD card too (not from Jessops tho)

Thanks, heat and rep.

unexpired as still available

Thanks, just ordered and heat added.

Can anyone now recommend where to purchase the SD/HC cards?

Got mine from ebuyer, either there or play.com. Needed mine in a rush, so there may be slighly cheper places if you can wait.
Remember to get class 6 cards though.

Got mine delivered today, a real bargin at £200 including memcard. Not the best quality ive seen, but a steal at this price.

Don't forget your Canon cashback. Received mine today, will play with it tonight.
Will only use the high resolution setting so should get 55 minutes from my 8gb SDHC memory card.

I got a 16gb card from play.com for about 34 quid with £1.40 quidco back.

No onto my question...

Has anyone managed to get this to record in widescreen ?
The setting in the menu seems to just make the lcd display widescreen or not, there is no difference in the resolution of the recorded videos.

I have sent mine back as I was disappointed with the video quality - even with it being on the best (XP) setting. The images looked grainy and lacked sharpness.
My 5 year old Sony 120E min-dv camcorder is far superior so will stick with that until HD comes down in price.
But a good price hence my heat rating. Thanks OP.
