i was torn between this and the hitachi hd one for £99 but that one only had small zoom and no low light i'm quite happy with it outside daylight I can fault it ,while filming it was raining and the sound was really crisp rather than the usuall digital muffed sound that most produce or currys have the 307 at 149 going end of range soon

just found this on cannon site caon t&cs
can some read through and check if this applies to us

It's SD

might get one for christmas thanks

i was just researching camcorders and finally settled on this one and reserved in Argos. Then popped onto hotukdeals to see this post - uncanny!
Hot Hot Hot

Doesn't say its HD, so presume it isn't?

In answer to dhue, SD is the recording format, not the recording quality!

Original Poster

No It isnt HD, but from the reviews ive read on it, many people say its as good as a HD camcorder theyve previously owned x

found the brochure here brochures.canon-europe.com/get…d=1

it has the spec and comparisons of other models, they state it is SD

...or Standard-Definition. oO

I'm pretty sure he wasn't asking a question.

Is it worth be being this one, over the £79.99 samsung one currently on sale @ argos?

I'm torn between this and the JVC FM-1 that I have already bought my daughter. She used the Canon FS200 which is similar to this and she didn't like the 'shaky' and blurry images of the FS200, so I am wondering has the fs306 model improved on this.

Wanderer how has the image stabilisation and focus been on your camera?

Has anyone been and bought one, ive not had chance to go yet, just wondering what its like x

I've got one reserved just hoping WANDERER comes back with his answer to my question before the reservation expires.

Just picked up a Blue one and have had a play around with it and seems good, the various reviews I have read have mentioned that the image becomes a little shaky on zoom but use of a tripod will help, even if you use a monopod. The battery life also swung it for me in the end. Looks like the JVC that I bought first will find a new home somewhere.

Was going to pick up the Sony posted last night, that is on offer for £99 from selected Sony centres, but an hour long drive for only to be told that they are out of stock, like the others have mentioned despite emails say it is ready for collection, is not for me.

I want to charge and fully test but daughter is around and will only see what I have. Mind you she still thinks the JVC FM1 is what she is getting.

I take it you gave up on getting the Fuji HS10.

Yer i saw the canon deal this morning, and managed to reserve the pink one, as i looked on youtube at some reveiws etc and it looked amazing x

its not bad at all the sound is the best part of it .. as with the image stabilization it seems to cope rather very when you move it the camera catchs up with you rather than goes blurring to the direction and when walking it's quite smooth you can alter the aperture for low light or use night mode even has a small led white light doesnt throw far but enough for a blair witch style video in A tent
