Currys have discontinued this particular model and have slashed the price (currently selling for just under £600 elsewhere)
Offer is only in-store and stock is VERY limited so this may not be a bargain to all, but if you can find one then you are going to bag a corker of a bargain on a great HD camcorder.
It may be worth calling your local store and getting them to check stock in your local area.
I bought one from Alfreton (Derby) and they were showing as having 1 left.

why is other post expired?

if you can find one that would be super hot
i wouldn't even touch one of these right now cos first I need a high spec rig (which will cost more than the camera - allegedly) to even process/convert the HD vids

tottally tempted but i struggle to even watch choppy HD vids on my lowly netbook so have to deal with the wierd logic that i first need to afford a solid rig before I can afford a HD camera. stupid technology dilema

Yeah that was me being dumb! When I first submitted the offer I had a 'page not found' error, so I re-submitted it only to discover it'd had been list twice
I can't find a 'delete' option so expired one of the posts instead!

I know what you mean about having to have a decent spec'd PC to cope with HD video. I'm planning on transferring it straight over to my PS3 and viewing/storing it there.

Thats what I do with my Canon HG10, the pics on my HD tv through my PS3 are fantastic!

Hmm you've got me thinking now about PC specs for HD editing as I want to move over to HD video.
I'd hope that a Q6600 (quad core) @ 3.0ghz, 8 GB ram, 2.5TB Storage would be man enough for it?
I'm guessing I'll need to buy a BD writer and perhaps some more storage.

Did you find this in a curry's digital, or just a curry's?

I tried to find that HG10 last week, but the only end of line things for sale at any of the currys here in edinburgh were table fans.

It was from a Currys Digital branch (High Street, Alfreton)
