The replacement toner sounds very cheap, I have ordered a printer just because of this. By the way, where can we get this toner at this price?
Thanks

Someone try this thing plugged into the USB port of their router, to see if it will print that way over the network please.

I need a cheap WiFi printer. Not necessarily laser (although preferable), but needs cheap ongoing costs. Any ideas?

If the router has USB printer server function, then it will work. It's not anything to do with the printer.

Some cheap laser/inkjet printer require host software to run on the computer, in which case they will not work via the USB print server build into a router.

USB print server just forms a bridge between printer and computer and enables connection via your router like it was connected directly via USB. Whether it needs drivers only or host software as well, won't change that functionality. As long as the router has the ability to create the connection, it will work. As the previous person says, it has nothing to do with the printer.

Yes at least one tp-link router works that way.
You could get an wireless usb print server for under £20 delivered on fleabay from China if you've feeling adventurous
www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wireless-Network-Print-Server-USB-2-0-Server-USB-Printer-with-ANPTH-Cable-/391657783488?
This one says it's wireless but there's no indication of an aerial or pick up an old router with a printer connection for less

Then please try it out for me, assuming you have ordered one, and let me know if does in fact work please. Thanks!

Still means going to the room and turning the PC on, wait for it to boot. Defeats the object of wireless printing, might as well just USB/email the document to the PC and print it as normal, and of course you'll be limited on where you can put the printer unless you want to buy extra long USB cables.

You can't even plug an ethernet connection in to this, so no opportunity to use it with another router/powerline adapter.

Although it's cheap, a much better option would be a Richo printer with ethernet built in for people who don't want to have to tether the printer to a PC in order for it to print anything.
