Exactly thats what i thought you can get HD pocket cams with far better video quality now just look at youtube HD demos of them. Standard def camcorders becoming thing of the past most still cams are better as well good price if you its what you want though

I had heard that the restricted zoom on a pocket HD camera (at this price) means they have some way to go to beat a traditional SD camcorder. Having said that, I bought the camcorder mentioned in this post recently and sent it back because the image quality wasn't great (despite the reviews). Thinking about the Panasonic SDR-S50 now (similar price).

i want a good camcorder to mainly shoot family trips out, baby walking etc etc

whats best for a budget of £150?
