Cheaper stocking up on these and keeping the carts out of them and throwing away the printer lol
Laser printers initially cost more but there's no anxiety every time you need to print.

Toner never dries out. Near instant startup. First page prints in seconds. Toner never dries out. Never cloggs up. Very cheap compatible toners that last for 2000 pages. Toner never dries out even after months of not using.

Did I mention the toner never dries out.
Everyone blaming the consumer for dumping cheap printers. Don't blame the effect. Blame the cause, ie corporates who put their profits above environmental concerns.

Sure if consumers stopped buying these printers then corporates would change, but a £9 printer is just bonkers on a psychological level so there's no hope for mere consumers to resist.

Yup. The ink costs 3 times more. Problem is they normally come with minimum ink.

all stores might not have them but anywhere that has them left they should be reduced. not expecting them to stick around long at this price though.

They don't necessarily have to apply the same discount in all stores. ALDI store price slashes are purely managed at a store level depending on their stock level.
None in my branch, thanks anyway

yeah true, we got 2 aldis about 2 miles from each other and they sometimes have the things at same price and other things are different. a tenner is stupidly cheap but even if another store had them and was say £15. still good. they had these as a promotional item though which can no longer be bought throuigh their site so they are definately discontinuing them wherever they are
Very nice. I've always found Canon printers to the best in my experience.
Top price
Around £30 for a set of original ink and £40 for high capacity set.

And by throwing them you mean adding to the already enormous plastic pollution which is present.

Corporates want to sell the products and wanna make money but we as consumers should think twice before buying such things. I agree a £9 printer is just bonkers but the corporates just wanna make money and we are just blinded when we see such a ridiculous price. Some1 somewhere has to take a stand. Let it be consumers or corporations, the former I think need to be much wiser and stop buying such stuff which would be discarded straight away. I am just thinking about the future of our children, what sort of world would we be offering them to live in.
That is my rant for the day. Apologies if I offended any1.
Remember to print something every month or so to minimise the risk of the print heads clogging. I have a monochrome laser printer now which is definitely the better option for documents or people too absent minded to look after their inkjet . When I occasionally want photos I can use a shop, the quality is better anyway.

Yep, but the printers are made anyway so it down to companies not consumers.

Simple solution is to refill the cartridges, very easy and inexpensive.

It's bait-and-switch. They gouge you when buying OEM inks - the most expensive liquid in the universe (according to corps).

Sure many here will buy compatible inks, but it's getting harder with all kinds of DRM built into the hardware. And the shops are still full of OEM carts, so there's still a business case for corps to carry on regardless.

OEM laser toner is also expensive but at least you get eg 2000 prints out of it, so maybe a single annual spend for most families. Oh and the toner never dries out.
