My local store had a sign near the Canon Mirrorless cameras saying a free 22mm EF-M Lens worth £200!

Store was the Basildon branch, no mention of it on their website or online at all.

That makes a Canon M50 Mirrorless Camera with 15-45 kit lens and 22mm F2 STM lens for £649.99 in store or £599.99 after cash back!

Total joke how idiots buy these mirrorless cameras from canon purely because of the name. Compared to Sony mirrorless or even Fuji these are slow and old tech that don’t compete yet the name carries them

Indeed. Anyone who has an interest in not wasting hundreds of pounds would do a bit of research and find that Sony or even Fuji is a much better buy.

1.7x crop in 4K and no Dual Pixel autofocus in 4K. For a hybrid camera aimed at vloggers this is laughable for the money they want. Universally derided and for good reason.
not that bad really.
without free the lens its expensive, with the lens its comparable to a6000 in price

infact... heat added

Good price - heat added
Voted hot just because of the lens thrown in.

Hopefully an a6000 or a6300 deal drops soon though, in combination with the 50-200 cashback from Sony.

A5100 for 190ish from JL last week was nuts, wish I'd got in quick enough!

Hmm may have my deals mixed up then. Oops. Think the JL was actually the a6000 for 270 odd after cashback, and I'm probably mixing that with the Currys one you mentioned.

Both great deals anyway, although both very limited stock offered.

I know, I know, it isn’t the best blah blah....

I did the research, found plenty of good reviews about Sony, Fuji and even Olympus having better cameras for comparable money.

For me though, having an open to use current Canon lenses in the future justified it. I have various glass for my SLR so if I fancied it in the future I could use it without having to buy new lenses.

I wasn’t after the best, just something that gave me options and didn’t mean breaking my neck carrying around an SLR with a young baby...

I think the Canon mirrorless series is a different lens mount to other Canon lenses although apparantly you can use an adaptor.

Yes indeed, you need the adapter. The current EF-M range is rubbish but open up the EF and EF-S range and there’s a whole ton!

The adaptor works well but it adds some length. Useful for me as I have plenty of EF and efs glass
Reasonable price but terrible camera. I returned mine after 10 days.
And also claim £65 back!!! Just got mine in London
Got an M3 and an M5, love them both (in fact not used the 70d for a good while, only use the 5D Mk2 when I need full frame)

I love the M's, (I use my 3 for Vlogging to be fair) and do use the adapter so I can use my EF lenses (although have 4 EF-M lenses now)

Was looking at swapping the 3 for a 50 for the 4k,but when found out about the crop and the dual pixel AF I thought I'd wait and see what they bring to the >10 series cameras next instead, don't tend to care for my face at 4k anyhow Just wish they would bring 120fps to the next ones (at above 720p manual focus)
