Excellent printer, got one off Amazon a while back, had a cashback offer so price similar to this. The wireless feature works spot on, great if you have pc's and laptops scattered around the house like us. Much better than the old epson it replaced.

Seems a very good price,

canon top quality too,

Hot!!

Good find, was reading a rave review of this printer in the Daily Mail Live magazine last Sunday....very tempted to replace our old Epson with this now...;-)

Great printer. Great price. Hot

Great printer (I have one) works fantastic wirelessly. Buy one now at this price! hot hot hot

thanks, been looking for something like this at a decent price.
heat and rep added.

Can anyone recommend a place to buy a CISS system for this?
thanks

Great deal. I'm deeply regretting buying a wireless all-in-one Epson from Tesco for a similar price a few months back. Canon printers are much better.

Looks good - been looking for a wireless printer to show up here

Was about to order then spotted this - Which is a better deal this or the one linked below also at Tesco?

If you have Tesco Clubcard, you will get double club card points (138).

What about the cost of the replacement ink cartridges?

Just FYI, in case you have Netgear Ready NAS or any other NAS which runs Linux, it is highly likely that they have a built-in printserver (or can be configured to have one), which can then be used to share any USB printer over the network. Many routers also support similar functionality (My Draytek does and I k now a few Netgears do too). So this deal is only worth it if you don't have any USB printer enabled always ON network device.

Just bought one from Amazon last week for £108:thinking: brilliant price, brilliant printer.

Piping hot:)

Get the cheaper alternatives at somewhere like stinkyinkshop.co.uk/ or advantage-online.co.uk/ 50% cheaper than the Canon ones and no discernible difference in print quality.

Check ink costs: HP are usually high or very high.
The Canon also has a proper ethernet (network) connection.

So, for instance you can connect it directly to a router and you will be able to print to it. So any pcs on your network will be also able to print to it directly (they don't usually have wireless connections) and wireless laptops will still be able to connect to it through the wireless access point on the router.

In order for a wireless printer to be used by several (for instance) laptops, it needs to be within their range, however it can be almost anywhere if it is networked by cable.

This is a very good deal.

I have this printer.

The only downside is the lack of networking port or wireless.

Though, I have a BT HomeHub and have this printer plugged into the USB port on the back of that which makes it work wirelessly.

Very good price.

I had a quick search for compatible cartridges a while back, and found them for £2.45 with free del and 10% TopCashBack to bring it down nearer to £2 a pop. They also do a buy 2 get 1 free, making them £1.47 each after cashback!

Or £4.95 for chipped ones to prevent you having to remove the old chip from the spent cartridges. (not on the buy 2 get 1 free offer unless bought on the saver pack below)

They also sell a chipped "Super Saver 9 Pack" which is on the buy 2 get 1 free deal for £45.45.
Which includes 3 black, 3 pigment black, and 1 of each of the three colours.
In the offer, this makes them £90.90 for 3 of the packs, so 9 blacks, 9 pigment blacks, and 9 colours in total.
This offer would make the chipped inks £3.03 each after cashback.

If anyone knows of any cheaper, please post, as I just need some new ones

Ignore this part, I have the MP630, not MP620.

Same applied for inks though I believe.

Anyone tell me if this works without as a standalone. I.e. without a PC?

Looks like its out of stock already online

Or if your NAS is somewhere not particularly convenient for a printer - mine is in a cupboard next to the router.

hmmmmmm i think you have mislead yourself if im reading you correctly, apologies if not
but i struggled getting the wireless to work, but the trick is to use the software included you can connect the printer to the usb on your PC, it then finds it wirelessly, you then disconnect the usb cable, and your done, mine works flawlessly on wireless no cables:-D
(incidently i got mine from comet £89.99 last week so not to gutteed)

does this print onto discs(dvd/cd)?

Why is this expired? And where does it show Out of Stock online?

I just checked this out - apparently Canon have removed the CD printing feature from this model, and added the Wireless Printing option. So no it does not print CD/s or DVDs.

Damn, cheers 'Artie', looked like a cracking deal too.

You're welcome, I was gutted too
For what it's worth, I'm currently looking at the replacement for this - the MP640. Basically the same printer with CD printing (shame it doesn't do DVDs :-D) and duplex printing. I've only found it for £130ish though...
Not as good a deal, but I need a new one so I might have to bite.

It is worth checking in your local tesco.

This has duplex printing, and sadly, it doesnt have cd printing!

I bought one of these for double the price a few days ago, needless to say its going back for a refund so I have bought one of these.

The printer is amazing, super super quiet and easy to set up.

The colours and print quality are amazing and its rated as the top printer in this months digital camera magazine.

In terms of photo quality, on good paper, this blows away the likes of HP and Epson, dont get me started on Lexmark, you cant see any pixels at all.

Only problem is on normal mode plain paper, there is a slight banding if you print an image. But im sure this can be solved one way or another.

Another cool thing is that the paper tray pops out automatically!! Sounds simple but its a great feature.

I'd recommend you read these reviews before getting an MP630 or MP640:
pcpro.co.uk/rev…630
pcpro.co.uk/rev…640

Whilst still on the A List at PC Pro, the ink cartridges have changed to be lower capacity and more expensive. Read the reviews on Amazon which support this.

Also, printing is supposedly slower, at least with the MP630.

Wish I'd seen this offer.

I ordered a few days ago at £105 from Amazon!

Cheers mate - I'd read the reviews, but wasn't aware of the ink changes, good know.

For me wireless is a must (so no 630) and duplex and cd printing is a big plus, making the 640 more desirable to me than the 620. At RRP the 640 is the obvious choice for me, but if I find the 620 at this price then the choice isn't so clear.

... off to amazon to read the reviews

Bought the last one at the Tesco Home, Fort Kinnaird, Edinburgh this afternoon...

Got another fiver off the price as well for some reason - lady didn't make it clear what that was for. £64.29 all in!

At least i can understand the deal marked expired when it went out of stock online eventhough it was still available instore, but No idea why someone has spammed it..

I dont think people have any clue of what they do.

Yes still got them in store :)) Tower Park had 4 left tonight, Fleetsbridge and Ferndown SOLD OUT.
On line out of stock still but also gone upto £99 has GONE UP IN STORE TOO, I argued with the assistant and luckily still had half price sign on it.

Inks from 99p at bigpockets.co.uk plus postage tho

This is a fantastic piece of kit. The inks are a little dearer than epson, but much better quality prints.
