I was in Asda in Robroyston, Glasgow last night and they had about a dozen of these printers just in front of the customer service point. There was a big poster advertising their "The Big Electronics Sale" and the Canon Pixma iP2702 inkjet printers had been reduced to £20 so I picked up one. Not sure if it's a nationwide deal or store-specific.

It comes with one colour and one black ink cartridge.

Is Canon ink rather expensive?

It just cost me £20 for a canon 19mls??? cartridge - compatible wont work at all.

look on the bay, I usually get 3 different coloured inks for £18 delivered. Then you have two separate blacks, used my brains and bought a job lot of 10 from the US for £11, bargain methinks. Have tried compatibles but with Canon they seem to clog up the printhead, which equals new printer. Epsons are more forgiving, but they will not print on stuiff more than 225gsm, so making your own cards is out!

Bought one of these last week for £20 from the Ellesmere Port store. Considering that the cartridges for this are usually around £15 each then it is a real bargain, I have considered buying another just for the ink.

BTW The ink cardridges that come with the printer are nearly always the very lowest capacity ones!!
