I was looking for a cheap all-in-one printer under £50 and was surpriced when saw discounted Canon Pixma from top shelf on Tesco's website. Printer has got 5 separated cardridges with ink so it is ecomical to use. You can also add cheap 3 year warranty for only £15.

I got this just after Xmas at pcworld for 60 and it's easily the best printer I've had, great buy at this price

On PC Pro magazine's A List at tested £112 with 5 stars!

Don't forget maybe some £back getting to Tesco's site via Quidco/TCB etc, and plenty of compatible ink cartridges on eBay from c50p/unit. Friends have Canon Pixma and while older/grander models had some reliability issues Canon replaced them under warranty with later/more-reliable models that continue to work very well.

Thanks to trunks 23 for a very good spot. My wife has now ordered. I only hope the inks don't dry out so quickly as with the other inkjet printers we have used over the years.

Lol. My Epson BX300F only plays up about once a quarter and a few pages of head cleaning has always sorted it out over the past 5+ years (except for one occasion when ended up syringing the black head).

any good compats for these? Ive just killed two Epsons with compats so i'm slightly concerned, any advice is gratefully received.

Inkjets? Never again. Go laser, no more blocked heads. Ever!

I have an old Pixma I use due to the wireless continuously failing on the Lexmark one we have in the house. Still works great 7 or so years on!

Unless colour is a must on your word documents, buy a laser. No brainer. However, the included scanner makes it appealing. I have a PIXMA I use solely for scanning as it cost £15.

So this is a **** hot deal at £49 then !!! (_;)

Not a bad printer. Canons inks are excellent, mind, so I'd avoid buying third party cartridges in this case.

move along nothing to see here,

Well done this person. Knows how to use copy and paste.

i would recommend you ignore inkjets and go laser - i got a laser colour dell off ebuyer for £89 nearly 2 years ago - never once has it failed to print unlike my old epson inkjet which had to have new cartridges everytime i wanted something printed as i was an inactive user. I am still to replace the toner in this one that came with it

How much are refills or what ever you call them on laser printer

Shows me £110

Everyone's needs are different...

I've had one of these for 18 months / 2 years and still rate it highly. I've always used eye wateringly expensive genuine inks with it and the previous Canon, as like others on this thread I've killed plenty of Epsons with 'compatible' ink in the past.

Brilliant for even double the price, if it comes back in stock anywhere at £49 again don't think twice!

Compatible ink for this printer (and other ranges) are also excellent in both quality and value.
