Isn't that usually the case with inkjet printers?
May be store specific

No it certainly isnt. Never buy a printer that you can't get non OEM ink for.

Cartridges for my Canon IP4000, IP8500 and I865 cost from 69p each....

And the quality must be good :))
Great printer! I paid £35 for mine and thought that was a bargain! Just buy the ink refill tools from eBay, cost bout £8 and I've refilled about 6-7 times and have not any issues thus far! Hot
I called two stores just now and the model number isn't even on their system. Another Tesco wild goose chase I'm afraid.

Great price if you can find one, will add to the list of things I am going to try and find tonight. Will most likely not find anything but it's fun looking
Taking a neighbour to Haverfordwest later today. This might be the first decent bargain I ever snagged at Tesco vis HUKD Just hope they have a few in stock so I have a chance later

You can get a refurb from ebay for £21 if there isn't one around(previous posted here a few weeks back. It says refurb but it arrived brand new.)

I would just buy the inks then...forget the printer :-)
Be good to know how many folk have found this in their Tesco store or as already said another goose chase from Tesco. So if you have or have not found them then please let us know.

Reviews on Amazon look not very promising.

buy 20 printers then & keep the ink!
I bought one of these printers several weeks ago; I managed about 4 printouts before it started throwing up various error codes.
Returning it under warranty to Canon is proving to be difficult and long-winded.
All gone by 5PM.. I should have known it was another Tesco ghost.
Did anyone else manage to get one of these?.
I got the last one in Tesco Altrincham at about 10pm last night.

These are compatible, not OEM inks, and they are usually around this price everywhere. As long as they are handled gently (in some cases anyway) they are a decent alternative to spending a fortune on ink....unless you want to pretend you are a "professional"

Return it to the vendor. Under law it is their problem.

That should read 'Non OEM'. Where else are they anything close to 64p then?

Will check surround stores for this!
tesco & instore .. always cold..
I have had this model for a couple of years and no problem at all. Ink is dear of course. I get the best deal on line at Just Ink and Paper.

Why are you returning it to "Canon", did you buy it from a Canon store?

Your contract and SOGA statutory rights are with the retailer not the manufacturer, take it back to tesco and let them deal with Cannon.

Hello, thanks for the advice
I bought my printer from Canon via their eBay outlet.
I contacted them through eBay, but they redirected me to the warranty section of the Canon website... which has been an absolute pain.

Canon suggested that I had used incompatible inks (I only used the genuine Canon inks which came with the printer), and that I should install the correct inks.
They also told me that I should get the printer serviced at my nearest recommended Canon dealer... over 50 miles away.

Te be perfectly honest, I just haven't had the time to chase them up since then.
