I'd check the prices of ink, I bought a Canon and the ink costs more than I paid for the printer

Have got a canon printer now and always buy the compatible inks from online stores, paid £11 odd for set of 6 last time
I use cheap ink with no problems.
Another happy compatible user here. My Canon ip5200 is still going strong but would have seriously thought about this otherwise.

I've had Lexmark and HP in the past, none of which lasted anywhere near as long.
Tempted. Any links to cheap ink, pleas?
Nice find, been looking for a wireless printer so this will do great
anyone got a link to compatable inks as well; i would like to get some
Lots of compatible cartridges available for Canon and Epson, Lexmark is the brand to avoid if you are worried about cartridge prices.
This is a great deal.

Bought 2 of these - decent printer!
Although I could not find compatible cartridges for this particular model... Original are expensive.
No compatiables for this model inks are quite expensive too
WARNING - INK IS NOT CHEAP FOR THIS PRINTER ! !

Please stop quoting prices for other Canon printers.
Compatible cartridges for this model are around £10 for the black and £13 for the colour cartridge.
So £23 a set ( and this is the cheapest on ebay).

Not that cheap but XL Colour and Black compatibles for just under £30.

Ordered....thanks. (_;)
does this do duplex? finding conflicting info online
This is better:

I buy 12 cartridges a time for £5.79 delivered off fleabay.
Good deal old girl bought the Canon PIXMA MP499 for a £5 more at tescos " don't know if it's the same or better spec ? "
Avoid cheap 2-ink printers....massive false economy. You've been warned!
Excellent printer for the money, cheap compatibles or refillable inks available, got this a couple of months ago from Argos when it was £1 dearer, still on the original cartridges even though its been used for photo printing and general documents.

£23 isn't exactly a lot of money unless you're a hobo

reserved 2, been after another cheap canon printer as my mp610 isn't wireless
i bought this printer ages ago, havent seen any compatibles that my wallet likes. Ive been used to £1 a cart or less with my old brother all in one. I usually refill the ink with a syringe with my brother printer but the carts this printer uses are made out of non- see thru plastic....so you cant easy see where the compartments are to drill/refill.
I bought this a few weeks ago from Argos for the same price, so its not a new deal. The printer is great and so chuffed i can now print straight from my Android phone
Just purchased on of these locally. It took a couple of tries to set up with the disc, as I rec'd an error message, but just re-ran the disc, and I can now print wireless. Very pleased. It looks good too.

what software you using on your phone?, I tried on my osf, but it took 10mins to print a simple 1 sentence doc.
Canon (2 cartridge) Ink costs are expensive, even the compatibles, but I for one find their cartridges easiest to refill.

Epson compatible cartridges are cheap but found they rarely worked or recognised by the printer.

Just my personal experience of both, and had several of each!
does this include inks.................stupid question but still asking
Ha, try and find compatibles for this...............

I have to refill mine instead as the remanufactured ones aren't much cheaper.
Ive currently got a canon mp170, good printer but the inks are exspensive, it's a 2 part one, there about £16 each.

Im looking for a wireless printer with cheap ink so will give this a miss.

Ive got a HTC Sensation - the wireless print function is built into the phone. It works as quick as printing from a PC.

Not really a stupid question, you do get ink with the printer but its slight smaller that normal
I kept buying Canon inkjet printers and using compatible inks but got fed up of them failing (presumably the print head knackered) so got a mono laser instead.

What cheaper options would you recommend (Wireless print/scan/copy colour printer) ?
I've been using compatibles on my Canon iP4500 for three years without problems. However the downside of this model is that (unlike the 4500) it doesn't use separate cartridges for each colour. I'd therefore avoid this one myself.

Got my 4500 (now discontinued) here BTW:
