Aren't AA batteries useless in digital cameras?

I made the mistake of buying a camera many many years ago that required AA batteries and all I seemed to do was use more batteries than take photo's!

Lithium ftw!

I thought that as well as I would take like 20 snaps and it would die.

Then bought good 2600mah ones and it was ten times better. I would prefer AA now to the Li-on in my TZ10

AA are cheap and easy.

I beg to differ. I have had both AA powered and bespoke lithium battery powered cameras (both Canons), and the only camera that left me stranded without power was the one with the bespoke battery, and yes, I did have spares. At least you can pick up AAs anywhere, so you can at least keep shooting.

I find AA Lithiums last me for several hundred shots - but then I use the viewfinder more than the screen, and review my shots on the computer.

Each to their own, I suppose.

White.

(PS Good Spot OP. Have some heat)

bought the A3000 recently. Feels flimsy and poor performer in low light, shots very noisy

A3000 is a de-spc'd Argos special....
You get what you pay for unless it's a deal..A3000 has half price sometime written all over it..

Never heard of the A3000, the A1100 is very good though.
