My favourite AA-type batteries! Zoom lens is a bit limited at the wide angle end, though.

heat

Excellent find.......in blue as well.
HOT!!!

takes great pictures yes pity AA batteries but duracell at poundshop last ages ie 2 weeks at ibiza and still going when got home

Great camera for the price, recommend that you use Lithium AA Batteries (like Energizer Lithium) to have a decent charge on them.

how does this perform with night shots?

At times it struggles to focus and the flash is sometimes painfully slow to charge. Much better for day shots. Very easy to use too.

It also is supported by CHDK for those interested in unlocking a few advanced features (saving as RAW, onboard scripting, motion detection, etc)

(Edit: just noticed it mentions motion detection in the specs. So read the above as "more advanced motion detection" - there are nice scripts out there for things like automatic lightning photography and the like...)

not sure why people moan about using AA batteries
whilst on holiday in Florida my ixus (uses lithium rechargeable) was taking some great snaps, along comes a good show and what do you think happened next? yep the battery died. yes i could carry 2 (not cheap though) but i didnt. how i wished for it to use AA's, the little kiosk near where we sat sold AA's. i got grief off the misses for missing some good photo opportunity's and the kids whinged coz they wanted a photo of mickey bloody mouse (again) so imho using AA's is better, you can get some great rechargeable ones too and theres always some little shop selling AA's if you get stuck, thats providing your not underwater then your screwed either way

You don't have to wait for a flat battery to charge it! Charge each night and I challenge you to flatten it in a day.

Or get rechargeable AA batteries, charge a pack of 4 and keep 2 with you as spares. Works either way

i just think AA ones are more convenient

Totally agree about AA batteries

What they lose in capacity they more than make up for in convenience.

Cheers OP managed to get one for my step daughter-she will be chuffed!:3

Cracking price for what sounds like a decent enough little camera.
