I selected this as a replacement for my A60 which I have abused for over 5000 photos.
This is slimmer and has IS (image stability) which I think is a must have on any new camera.
Ticks too many boxes to ignore. I was delaying hopeful of a price drop and now I saw this I couldn't order quick enough.

Thanks for the heads up. Have cancelled with Amazon and will order in for local collection.

Note though that Argos comes to £80.94 delivered, so Amazon still the better online deal.

Both excellent prices
i got a a560 for about that price a few months back and thats now £49.99 now :-(

Can any of you guys (or gals) offer me some advice?

My 13 year old wants a camera for Christmas with the only requirement that he can take pictures in quick succession cos he thinks my digital camera is slow having to wait a few seconds between takes!

I want to keep the spend under 100 quid, it has to look good (he's 13) but does what he wants - I know nowt about cameras  - any advice out there?

Cheers.

Normally that would have to be a SLR, ~£260
but you could try to get a second hand Minolta A2, superb camera, great display on the back, but make sure you get one that has been looked after.

I've got the Canon A720is and it will take photos in fairly quick succession provided that you don't use the flash. I've just had a look at the review at Steve's Digicams and that says that the A590is can manage 10 shot in 5.6 seconds in burst mode (1.8 fps) which I think is pretty good.

According to chdk.wikia.com/wik…FAQ
the A590IS and the A560 can use the CHDK modified software.

I may have to give the A560 a whirl! (or maybe the 590 - I could do with image stabilisation)

Thanks OP for posting and montriff for mentioning the A560

Just picked up the responses - thanks guys.

Just picked one up from Argos, great camera!
