Offer available instore only, and possibly only today. A great bargain for an instore price, cheaper than anywhere I can find on t'interweb too. A cracking camera which fills the gap between compact/DSLR. RRP is supposed to be £299
The PowerShot SX100 IS is the first model in Canon's new SX series of budget super zoom compact cameras, and in the Powershot line-up slots in somewhere between the tried and tested A-Series and the more upmarket S5 IS. Canon's engineers combined the materials and build quality of the former with the long lens, some features and design of the latter to merge them into a brand new camera that goes head to head with Panasonic's popular TZ series (and the new Sony H3). The SX100 IS comes with a 8.0MP sensor, a 10x zoom, optical image stabilization and a comprehensive range of manual photographic controls, all nicely wrapped up in a compact silver or black plastic body. Canon says the SX series offers exceptional performance in the hands of any member of the family

PS guys I went to the Manchester Trafford Centre Branch

Will try my local store tomorrow. Its quite a drop in price for what seems like a decent bit of kit.

Front and rear view. Very nice but I know I would still miss a viewfinder for those really bright sunny days.

Cheers for the pics..

Thats the only gripe really(Viewfinder). Just taken some test shots at home, sweet zoom on it, very powerful even the digital zoom..if you can steady your hand. Will be very good with a tripod (A quid at poundland). Whats good about this camera is the availability of manual controls as opposed to the Panasonic TZ-3

I don't think the RRP is £99 like you quoted either or this would be a terrible deal ;-)

This offer ends tomorrow. Jessops were also doing the extra £10 off on any camera over £99

I ended up with a Nikon DSLR.....Oh dear...
