Buy the Canon PowerShot SX200 IS Compact Digital Camera from Cdiscount.co.uk. The PowerShot SX200 IS is stacked with features indicative of Canon:

- 28mm wide-angle 12x optical zoom:
Capture more in your frame with a powerful and compact 12x wide-angle (28mm) optical zoom lens. Canon’s lens-based optical Image Stabilizer Technology counteracts camera shake, for crisp, blur-free images throughout the zoom range.

- 12.1 Megapixels:
With a 12.1 MP sensor, you can capture every scene in vivid detail – print up to A2 size, or crop to achieve a desired composition without losing the detail necessary for large prints.

- Compact design:
With compact proportions that make it an ideal travel camera, the PowerShot SX200 IS has a sleek aluminium design that feels great to hold. It comes in a choice of three classic colours: black, blue or red.

- High speed DIGIC 4 processing:
Canon’s DIGIC 4 processor drives exceptional processing speeds, responsive operation, superb image quality and colour reproduction. Advanced Noise Reduction ensures richly detailed, clean images, even at high ISO speeds.

- Smart Auto with Scene Detection Technology for effortless ease:
In Smart Auto mode the camera uses intelligent Scene Detection Technology to determine subject brightness, contrast, distance and overall hue – and selects optimum settings accordingly. Easy mode deactivates all buttons except flash and reduces on-screen icons for ultra-simple shooting.

- Motion Detection Technology for anti-blur:
The PowerShot SX200 IS combats blur with Motion Detection Technology. Activated in Smart Auto and Easy modes, a range of technologies ascertain movement of both camera and subject. The optimum ISO is then automatically set for any situation. Servo AF tracks moving subjects to ensure they remain in focus.

- Face Detection Technology:
A suite of Face Detection technologies detects up to 35 faces in a shot and adjusts focus, exposure, flash settings and white balance – for optimal results with natural-looking skin tones. Face Select & Track allows a particular face to be chosen as the principal subject in a photo. FaceSelf-Timer makes group photos easy, taking a shot when an extra face is detected in the frame.

- Manual Control mode:
A Manual Control mode allows more experienced users to creatively experiment with key camera settings such as aperture and shutter speed.

- 3.0” LCD:
A large, bright 3.0” LCD makes framing, reviewing and sharing shots or movies equally easy.

- HD movies and HDMI output:
Supplement great still shots with HD movies (720p, 30fps) and share them on any HDTV via a built-in HDMI connection.

fantastic price..... was looking at this in jessops the other day it was £289 !!!!!!

very good price for a gd camera

This has to be red hot, I think the Panasonic TZ7 is probably a slightly better camera but if this was available at this price when I get my TZ7 I think Canon would have got my business.

Seems like a good camera, always wanted a decent superzoom......

One thing that concerns me... is the image stabilisation mechanical or digital?.... if it was digital I wouldn't touch the camera because that zoom with digital IS is going to give bad results IMHO.

Urgh - stupid Mastercard 'secure code' nonsense. Payment rejected cos I can't remember the password I set up (only recently too!). Will no doubt have everything locked out until I can sort that. The 'forgotten your password' thing doesn't recognise the CC details either!

Great deal by the looks of things - hope I can use later!

Cheers! Placed an order.

Downloaded some sample pics from Steves Digicams. They look superb.

SirHugo

Why is the voucher saying Staff purchase?

Could anyone advise me which woulde be better; this or the TZ5

Must be a glitch on their part, as the voucher codes are freely available for everyone to use: Various Discount codes @ CDiscount

Only red ones left now!

Yeah, mine said that - was a little concerned, but ordered anyway.

All gone now, by the looks of it...

Tried that.

I've had no trouble before but then I had to change my card and set it all up again. The password rules changed so I had to choose a new one (longer) and, of course, now I can't remember what it is!

I still managed to get an order in via another card! :-D

Will have to call my CC provider to clear the Secure Code nonsense.

Aye - looks like the TZ7 is the daddy but I was after a decent camera for an upcoming trip to the USA and, for the money, this will be perfect. I've no idea about ISOs, F settings, etc, - just wanted a very good point and click camera with good MP and optical zoom.

I can vouch for this camera. Bought one for my wife (at a much higher price:-() she thinks she is David Bailey( who's he) now.

Great results.

Do you think Canon are bringing out a new version and need to get rid of their old stock? It looks like this has been around since 2006 (sorry if Im stating the obvious but I don't really follow the 'camera world')

You don't with Verified by Visa. It is totally separate.

I thought that, but the number shown (an 08451 number) takes me through to Egg...

Odd.

This is a rather recent 2009 model from what I can see...

Your probably right - I was just going on the fact that amazon says 'first released in January 2006'. They've probably bought out new versions since.

However, why are they offering this cashback if not to shift stock for newer model?

Anyone had theirs shipped yet? Still at 'packed, waiting for dispatch' stage here.

Dispatched now! Being sent by our 'good friends' Home Delivery Network - argh!

Just got back from 2 weeks hol to find mine still hasn't been delivered, although tracking tells me it was delivered on the 3rd Sept. Have sent CDiscount an email query.

Anyone else have any problems?

Scratch the above - it was still with Reception at work - doh!

Can't believe I missed this flipping deal and the cashback... absolutely gutted. Going to cost me about £80 more if I want to get this one now!
