About this deal
This deal is expired. Here are some options that might interest you:
Just a heads up for those about to spend money on Canon gear. Canon's Spring Cashback deal starts 7th March running to 31st May. The website on the leaflet I have (from Focus on Imaging show at the NEC) is canon.co.uk/spr…ck/ - but it's not working yet.
Purchases made at Focus on Imaging are meant to covered.
5D MkIII £160
6D £100
7D £80
60D £65
100mm Macro £80
16-35 £160
10-22 £80
17-40 £80
24-70 (f2.8 mkII) £235
8-15 (Fisheye) £155
70-200 (f2.8 IS MkII) £235
Speedlite 600EX-RT £80
G1X £30
G15 £30
S110 £20
SX50 £50

One thing to note the Serial Numbers have to be European ones, so probably no chance of using Ebay/HK dealers to get something even cheaper. There might be a few Canon Bundles in the next few days as retailers match the exhibitors at the NEC (assuming Canon offer the same deals to people like WEX, LCE, Mifsuds etc).

Don't think so, just what's on the leaflet. Seems to be aimed to higher level of cameras this time round.

Hope so, as I'm looking at buying a Nikon. But their winter cashback promo only ended at the end of January didn't it?
Its what usually happens.
Hope its £50 and that was just a typo?
I assume this covers Amazon? As they seem to be the best price for UK stock (around £364) unless anybody can advise a better/cheaper retailer that may qualify for this offer????
Very true but Canon also did Winter Cashback which expired on 24 January 2013...fingers crossed!
Ah I didn't realise that..in which case you'd think there's a fair chance Nikon will run something soon.
I'll hold fire and keep checking!
ooops, corrected it now. As for Amazon - I can't see a problem (so long as it's not a dodgy Marketplace seller)
Heat added.
Amazon will be fine (as long as it's themselves not a 3rd party).
The cheapest price is this place: ukdigitalcameras.co.uk , but you'd have to phone them and ask if they are legit uk stockests bought through Canon UK.

I did exactly this, rang them and they said that although they are canon uk stockists that canon won't honour the cashback on this price as its a special deal and not in line with canons rrp - sounds dodgy and when I asked them to explain they didn't offer much of an explanation. The woman I spoke to also implied that their price will probably go up before the deal starts anyway? Like I said, sounds well dodgy and didn't like the sound if what this outfit had to say to be honest so unless anyone can find it cheaper amazon seems the beat place for the sx50

v dodgy. i got my cashback on a canon 100mm macro IS amazon misprice, and a canon body in amazons lightening deal. Nothing said about being out of line with canons rrp.

I contacted them about a Canon G15 a few weeks ago. They told me that they sourced their stock from around Europe. They could not guarantee that I got a UK camera unless I bought the camera as a bundle with a 16gb SD card, case and extended guarantee. That bundle made their price similar to Amazon. Seemed strange to me.

Nice, a grey import company that has many many upset people and has warnings against it on most thread sites. Based in Hong Kong and actually delivers a package as often as King Kong. Help yourself.
Surprise, surprise their price for the sx50 has suddenly gone up to £369.99 which makes them more expensive than amazon and they want a delivery charge!
My name is Phil from UK Digital Cameras.
Just to clarify, in order to be able to offer competitive prices we occasionally source stock from European Canon distributors - this is always supplied with a full warranty and we are always available at the end of the phone should there be any issues. The price has been lower, but in order to comply with Canon's cashback offer we will only be selling stock sourced from Canon UK, which inevitably means we need to raise our price to above our buying price. Sadly, it is not possible to have both the lower price and the cashback offer.
We very much pride ourselves on customer service so will always endeavor to provide the best prices with the best service, but unfortunately this isn't always possible due to the buying power of larger UK companies, or the pricing advantages of Hong Kong sellers.
I am always available to discuss any issues. My contact details are listed on our "Contact Us" page here: ukdigitalcameras.co.uk/con…-us
All the best,
Phil
Dude, digitalrev - just got my 60D for £460
Was that through Ebay - the Digitalrev site shows £499.00 currently.
I wouldn't think so - at £669.99 I can only assume it's an import. You could always ring them and ask them though - at least they have a phone (unlike some!).
I haven't read any feedback of them, but I can't see it being UK stock. Surprised they claimed this.
Also - either they aren't actually in the UK or I am dubious of the VAT claim. Current turnover threshold for VAT registration is £79,000 pa. That's only 79 high end cameras or lenses a year!

I would say there wasn't even an outside chance you'd get cashback. I would be even more worried as they have lied to you. You should also do some research on how well they've handled returns/complaints.

You wont get cashback with these sites either, but at least they have an awful lot of good feedback across forums. At least the top two of those have UK bases, where they can deal with returns, etc too.
