Have been after one of these for a few weeks now and noticed that Canon are doing the £40 cashback again.

So it's effectively £199 delivered. This includes the £40 cashback cheque from Canon which is running again, voucher can be downloaded here:-

Hope this helps someone.

Hmmm - I've been waiting for the Pannasonic TZ7 to go sub £200. Should I go for this??? Arghhh!

It's HOT!

Use "quidcofive" for 5% off too, down to £227, plus £40 from canon and 4% quidco cashback!!!!!
Potentially under £179... Hot for me.
Great reviews as well!!!

Or buy it from Amazon, Ebuyer or Dabs for £217 (i.e. £177 after cashback). Not a very good deal at all in my opinion. Been watching this and the Ixus 100 for a couple of weeks now and Jessops pricing is falling behind the other ratilers this xmas even with one of the discount codes, JESSOPS5, QUIDCOFIVE or BIRTHDAY10.

The Panny has 25mm wide angle (Canon has 28 mm) which makes a huge difference for landscape and interior photos. But you have to buy the expensive Panny batteries, which would put me off buying Panasonic.

I assume nobody likes this camera in red judging by the price difference.

The Canon has full manual control which the panny doesn't. They are both superb cameras so it comes down to this features as it is the only significant difference. If you want full manual control then you have to buy the Canon, if you don't want full manual control buy the panny for the better wide angle.

Yeah - Amazon have the red for £217.56 before the cashback, whereas the black is £232.98 on Amazon. As you say the red mustn't be selling quite as well.

Ebuyer has it for £217.56, but the winner for me is Dabs at £219.54. Dabs have 5% quidco which (Should) bag you this for:-

£219.54 - 5% quidco (£10.98) = £208.56, less the £40 cashback, Grand total £168.56

Code AUTUMN10 for further £10 off

Well you can only use one of the vouchers - better to go with the QUIDCOFIVE - 5% off better than £10 off

I have one of these, got it from jessops, just took it back with lens error! They say it will be 8 weeks but they should repair it for free, maybe this service makes it better to use a high street store than an online one.
Love the camera but hope this isn't a common problem!

ARRGGGHHHHHH - just ordered from Dabs. Had to get a red one too, wish I'd have seen this earlier, would have got from Jessops as any issues I could have returned it to the shop. Also need it for my sister's wedding on Saturday and with a collection I can guarantee receiving it in time.

Waited ages beofre buying this too!

Just checked my Dabs order from today and it's "Awaiting stock Delivery" so will probably cancel and go with the Jessops offer now.

I wonder why this deal is not hotter :S...

I'm confused by that. Doesn't a bigger number mean a bigger i.e: wider lens? no?

The short answer is no!

In addition when choosing, you have to take into account whether you prefer the wider angle or greater zoom, the two cameras quoted are both 12x zoom, because that is 12x the minimum zoom then it means the Panasonic will not zoom in as large as the Canon:

Canon 28-336mm
Panasonic 25-300mm

Ah, thanks for that! I'd rather have the wide angle lens I think. The 300mm zoom is plenty and I don't like the pop up flash on the Canon. Thanks for helping me make my decision! Repped :santa:

I'd go for the panasonic if only because it has a more detailed screen and can zoom while videoing

Great thanks! :-D
