I keep seeing so many posts from people claiming to have found these super hot deals on bikes. Which almost always turnout to be either total crap or way overpriced. So here is a real deal for a great bike with great specs at a great price.

I personally have this bike and it's a complete joy to ride. Obviously a hardtail isn't great for everything but it's a perfect bike for beginners.

Oh and this isn't a limited time deal or anything. This is the price the bike retails at.

Nice bike for the price. Better then 99% of other bike posts but unfortunately the cheap skates will always cold vote. Bikes are one area you defiantly get what you pay for.

Yeah no surprise there.
I prefer my beginners bike to have stabilisers...

Yeah well I obviously meant for beginners to more serious riding. Obviously not for someone who has never ridden a bike before or just planning to use it to get to and from the shops...

not a bad spec but I think that the Decathlon rockrider 8.1 is a better buy and with it being in this country you can gurantee it will fit correctly........IMO of course
Canyon definitely have great spec for the money.

I'm thinking of buying a Nerve 8.0 this year but I'm a bit nervous about sizing etc. Does anyone know if they charge for exchanges or whether they have a presence anywhere in the UK, bike shows etc?

Just enter all your measurements on the site and they will tell you the correct size to order.

The decathlon is a great bikem but better? I'm not sure. It has good specs but the bike is ugly as hell.

Did something similar when I bought a Focus from Wiggle a few years ago, everything indicated a large would be ideal but it was, well, too large. Wiggle were excellent and swapped it for a medium and didn't charge for the shipping all three times. But with shipping on the Canyon being over £50 with the box etc I would be quite nervous...
I think the problem with sizing of bikes is that everyone is different... it's a very subjective thing so buying online without being able to try is risky. But if they offer a trial or exchange then that does go some way to getting around that issue.
Could get a Specialised Rockhopper for cheaper than this But each to their own, and so long as it feels good for you, great!!

Not that I've seen. Most places it's £600 ish.

My brother has the rockhopper though and I much prefer the canyon over it. I honestly can't stand the suntour forks on it.

I'd say best bikes at this price point are the canyon yellowstone and the decathlon rockrider.

Rockhopper seems to be about 600 for a 2011 model. It does have Suntour forks but not all Suntours are bad - the epicon on my Fury is a very decent fork.
I have a Canyon Nerve XC 5.0 and what you also have to remember is to add on £50ish extra for shipping and the packaging.
Canyon do a 30day no quibble return guarantee incase you mess up size wise.
Canyon really have been getting rave reviews. It always seems to come down to "how can they do this at this price" etc etc! It just goes to show the mark up bike retailers place on other models.

I have to agree with you , the 30 day money back is so nice and puts your mind at rest , you also get a Canyon Torque Wrench and Shock Pump for free .
Is this really best deal on cycles? I dont know much about bikes, but at the moment im after one... is it better than kona bikes, or cube?
