sorted byBut....how do you play the Wii U on the train to work?
Except there are loads more people with a 3DS than a Wii U which is basically who this is aimed at. Your complaints are a bit misleading - normally when people hear 'lazy port' they think poor optimisation and doesn't run well, but you're actually just upset that there are no added bells and whistles to a game you already own.
This duplicate screen is very off-putting... even if they’d had just a pause button and a logo it’d be nicer.
ill have to try the demo to see if I’ll go ahead or not.
good price though thanks!
It's a port of the Wii U game, so if you've already got that and aren't fussed about playing it on the go, then it's probably not worth it for you. But to decide to not buy it because the action is repeated on a second screen (as it was on the Wii U) seems a bit odd to me.
But the bottom screen is optimised, albeit not to any great extent...
Even in the video you posted the bottom screen isn't EXACTLY the same as the top, as it shows number of lives, coins, number of diaminds collected, and info text. Whereas the top screen does not.
This alone shows that the bottom screen isn't just a straight duplicate of the top.
You do realise that this was never intended to be a sequel, and Nintendo never claimed it to be, right?
The whole point of this port (and the Switch version) is to give what is a great game the opportunity to reach a larger audience.
I agree with you that if you own or have played the Wii U version, there isn't gonna be a lot here for you, but that doesn't really make it a 'lazy port'.
The stereoscopic 3d didn’t add as much depth as I’d hoped for a game like this and the analogue stick of the switch makes it easier to see on top of things (on 3ds youre more likely to use L and R to rotate the camera than use the nub).
