Got full RAC cover for policy holder in any car & named driver in insured vehicle for ZILCH plus £35 cashback from M&S car insurance.

I have been with this company for 9 months, only called them out once. Promised 55 mins, 3 calls later a local garage finally turned up 1hour 45 mins after I first called. Then had to wait another 30 mins for them to get authorization to take the car to my home. Not a very good 1st experience!

Its not ZILCH you are paying for in in your insurance cost , i have just got my insurance tonight £260 with LV and M+S was £480 but i would have got free RAC cover lmfao

Does make me laugh that people think they are getting free cover with there insurance when the insurance is normally a couple a hundred quid dearer than the next competitor without RAC, that would only cost £35 extra anyway..lol

You do need to be careful with these cheaper deals though as they do have some stipulations about car age and service history and maintenance, you can get caught out with technicalitys sometimes using these cheaper services, so make sure you read the T&C's before taking out the cover!

Good price if the deal suits you though!

I'm the guy at the other end of the motorway SOS phones and can tell you ALL the companies use local garages and recovery agents to a larger or lesser degree, especially in peak periods of extreme weather.

check your cover has accident cover as most do not and when you are involved in an accident or have a vehicle fire you will have to be recovered by your insurance company. if you cannot contact your insurance company your breakdown company will charge you and you then claim it back.

every day we get calls people without any cover at all on the motorway, a painful and expensive experience

bought this for my daughter ( we have it already) 3 star was £35 after code £30.13 and tracked with quidco £4.52

£25.61 yippeeeee

Lol

M&S were around the lowest with free cover making it below the lowest taking that into account

Ta ta

For anyone buying a policy use the expired (not expired) code on this site for 15% off - as it's still working.

Thanks to the OP of this deal and the code

Just use tesco club card vouchers to pay for RAC

Good find OP, I needed to get some cover (haven't had a breakdown in 5 years, touch wood, but the odds are slowly and steadily stacking against me) better to have it and not need it than to need it and not have it IMHO, so at ~£2.50 a month it's well worth it.

nice one. just signed up for the 3* deal. cheers

Motorbike from 2000 - £55, kind of expensive!!

Good deal, currently covered with them, they have an iPhone app so you can report a breakdown without having to dial an exspensive number. It uses your gps and they apparently call you back within 15 mins or so. can't rate them as not had to use them as yet

Still a fan of autoaid myself, but its understandably not for everyone because of the initial outlay per incident

Code didnt seem to work for me, but still £35 is pretty good for homestart for my vehicle, which has now crossed the 10 year barrier so the normal services dont want to touch it with a bargepole (even though it's broken down precisely 0 times in the 3 years I've owned it but whatever :))

:Cheap and gotta be better than AA. My experience of them is Rubbish, they had just as well be free. Green Flag for me were great, so i'd give these a try.

Code is still working just double checked

Autoaid is the best!.

.

Cant compare to RAC or AA.

These use local garages & recovery firms not their own patrols.

You get what you pay for & it does look a good deal but havent read the SMALL PRINT yet

I work for the green flag old "national breakdown" and £21 for the 2 star option is a BARGAIN! don't need home start as I'm a mechanic..........."why do you need breakdown cover if your a mechanic!"..........can't get me snap on box in my M5!

nope older cars carry a premium like most breakdown firms, if you want 3 star cover its £55 for a car from 10-15 years old without the code/cashback,
2 star is fine for me though(dont need home start) and is a very competitive price.

Be warned - you get what you pay for!

it's my 2nd year with StartRescue. I've only needed to call them out once and they were very very good.. better service than I've had with the AA, and much cheaper. I'd recommend them.

MSE recommendation of AutoAid is £4.00 more but covers you and your spouse for whatever car you drive. This policy costs £24.00 to add that same benefit.
Sorry, cold from me.

in my experience its normally flat tyres or blow outs and most drivers either can't or are unwilling to change a tyre. many new cars are supplied with out any kind of spare wheel at all and given that modern tyres are designed so that in a blowout at speeds the main carcass of the tyre comes off leaving leaving the bead around the rim to protect it there is nothing left to squirt the "tyre repair fluid" found in many new vehicles into

yes and if you break down and they cannot fix it is this what you get. (If the vehicle cannot be repaired at the scene of the breakdown, we will arrange and reimburse any reasonable cost of taking the vehicle, you and up to 5 passengers from the place where the vehicle has broken down to anyone place you choose.)in otherwords you pay and we will refund you ,if thats the case it is a poor company the reason to take out insurance is not having to pay i know you will get your money back but what if you have not got the dollars at the time what happens then

Good price, purchased. Hot for me.

bought mine 2star for £22 which is fine by me,
also received a email offering free legal protection up to £50000 from them which my insurance company usually charges £20 for so if i cancel that next time i renew my insurance i will get this for £2.

I guess they wont offer that next year as it makes no financial sense but good for now:)

they take credit cards

I have a tip to get breakdown service to you quicker! say you got women & children with you. always works, with you within half an hour.

Autoaid is the best,They actually state they will take you home or onto your destination,Iv'e not found any others that say that they all say will take you to a local garage ,Then if it can't be fixed in the day they will take you home,The only downside with autoaid for me is they won't cover a small pickup so i'm gonna have to go with someone else. But at the end of the day i want to get home and not to a local garage my son in law is a mechanic so i aint paying anyone when i get it repaired free lol.
