I actually have one of these from the stock in October.

Someone can have it for £20 if they like.

Got one of these last time the offer was on.
Really love it. Everything just works and mostly in a sensible way too.
Even the Bluetooth connection to my phone was pain free.
The little mini blue HP USB drives are a good thing to have with this as well.
Good value head unit.

PM'd you.

They've been doing these for a while now, albeit just with different fascias.
Been using mine since their last clearout when I paid 24.99

So, any good?

Just received mine through the post from mattpreston11, fitted within half an hour in my Matiz. Superb player, enough inputs to keep everyone happy, and the bluetooth is pain free, and very clear!

Does this car fit most cars? I have a Picasso 2004 model Citroen

All out of stock in the kingsbury branch

Just like the last time I bought an aldi car radio it went back within 24 hours

Terrible build quality. Fascia was really hard to connect to the main unit. Not an easy one handed operation like most non-drop down units. Plus it kept turning the volume up to maximum on its own no matter how frantically I tried to stop it. Also the unit is really deep. About 1/2 inch longer than my old sony unit

AVOID!

Does it have a separate SD card slot? Or do you have to use a USB SD card reader? Thanks

Separate. USB port is on the fascia itself (as is the aux). The SD card slot and CD slot is behind the fascia (the facia drops down).

Not fitted the Mrs yet, but felt a £50 stereo was in keeping with a 2000 Hyundai Accent.

Bought this item over the weekend, some observations and comments.

1. The unit does not fit inside the cage completely and so it sticks out by half a inch. Having said that its not very obtrusive and visually still looks smart. The colours on the LCD screen is not loud or jazzy and so very pleasant.
2. A2DP streaming with iPhone 3gs works very well, but compared to the radio volume the sound was bit low so had to rack up the volume little bit.
3. Bluetooth call receiving is good, could see the calling number but it does not interface with the phone directory so cant see the name of the person calling.
4. Bluetooth calling from Radio itself does not work. Speaking to the helpline it seems like this model does not support it, the phone call needs to be initiated from the phone and then the call will be picked up by the radio.

Fitting the unit was not too much of a trouble, ISO connectors, other wires etc came with the unit so was good.

Due to the lack of feature for making outbound calls this car unit not a ideal fit for me but I'm yet to find something that has this feature at the £50 mark.

All in all the purchase still seems to be a good one, the three years warranty is a big plus.

Fitted the Mrs yesterday. Can't say I noticed the unit sticking out the cage at all. Its as flush as the Clarion it replaced (it was so old it had a tape deck!).

Did manage to sheer off the line out cable trying to persuade it into position - no idea how (doh). Never going to use it though.

Not managed to test bluetooth call/streaming yet. I presume you use the phone as a microphone in a cradle but the caller comes out the speakers? May not be perfect but better than nowt.

Thanks! There was mention of remote control in the manual, guessed it meant a different model seeing as there isn't one...

Better still, unit has a inbuilt microphone and that picks up the sound, its decent working

Yes the remote does not come with the unit. I have found a workaround for outbound calls, if you use the mode button and select BT then click on the Phone pick up button on the Radio the unit makes hands free call to the last redialled number. Its not ideal but I can live with it.

Lol, just found it while trying it out. Works pretty well I have to say (low speed test). The sound quality through the speakers seems reasonably clear, but not crystal clear. That said I'm not convinced 2001 Hyundai Accent came with Bose speakers!

Excellent advice, thanks.

To be honest I've found an issue - I'm annoyed my wife's £50 radio has many more features than my 2007 Toyota Avensis inbuilt thing now.

Can it support an amp does it have aux ports on the back, usually red and white ??

It has two RCA out (red and white) with sockets built onto the unit itself and a yellow sub woofer out on cable (which I broke when installing!).

Anyone one know where has any?

why expired, aldi blaby in leicester were selling them yesterday for £39.99
i know cos i picked one up,
and have to admit its pretty awesome regarding bluetooth hands free and bluetooth mp3 streaming via iphone and blackberry
also does mp3 via cd, sd card, usb slot and 3.5mm headphone socket labelled aux
as stated above you can run amp from it as it has 2 rca connectors on the back
managed to fit mine without the supplied leads as my vauxhall vectra (b) had the same box connectors but had a 3rd box connected to the ones i wanted so i hack sawn the othe box off, not the wires just the box connector away from the other 2 and it plugged straight in ( better than paying £20 quid for one from halfords) as the supplied ones are box connector to bear wires, the above 3rd connection box is for either steering wheel controls or trip computer radio display or both
only little problem was the live and switchable live were different so just snipped and connectedpermanant live to swithable live and swithable live to permanent live as the stereo wasnt remembering stored radio stations
think i seen some in leicester, meridian yesterday too but at full price at £49.99
so needs un-expiring
