Bull**** capacity. I used one of these before and on its first use the battery got so hot while i was jump starting a motorcycle that i was very concerned it would explode. I stuck it inside one of those lithium fire sacks i bought and went back to it the next day and the thing was dead. I diassemlbed it to get the battery out and it was a 7.4volt lithium polyer cell that was 3800mah not the 18,000 that it was advertised as having.

This particular one regularly goes on lightning deal for £37 according to Keepa. Reviews seem good but I would hold out (last lightning deal Feb 13th, before that Feb 11th, etc)

Was the unit you actually used the same make/cost as the one advertised here? The amazon reviews for this one seem OK. I would have definitely returned it rather than taking it apart!!
I don't even need to use Fakespot to see the reviews are from fantasy-land, but if you do, it confirms the obvious! fakespot.com/pro…f0f

i stopped using fakespot ages ago as it's way too eager to tar everything as fake (in this case 100% fake? seems dubious) reviewmeta is far better imo

thanks for the heads up over Fakespot. New to me and very useful
This one is not bad, wouldn't pay 50 but I got mine on a lightning deal. Wife uses it regularly to charge her phone. I use it as a torch when the electricity goes out. Have never needed it for the car

Interesting. I'd never heard of Fakespot so I've been spending a bit of time (when I should be working) checking it out. I've got to say that the algorithm that they use to generate these verdicts seems a bit suspect to me, and if you click through to actually look at the reviewers that FS has rated as unreliable then to me anyway it seems very arbitrary. Have you left a lot of positive reviews? You must be fake! Only left 1 or 2 reviews but they are very positive? You must be fake! Do you use certain words that FS recognises or write reviews in a similar style to others? You must be fake! But good news - if you want a full report on a product they will SELL you one for only $10. Hmmmm.

Just look at the reviews to confirm it one way or the other. It's a tool like any other, not the Ten commandments!

It's too keen to discount the obvious, but it's also a tool - take nothing totally on face value.

No but given they are obviously lying about the capacity i would give it a miss. Good feedback means nothing most people wont test them and often leave feedback as soon as they get it.

Remember those fake usb flash drives that were all over ebay a few years ago, well they got a ton of good feedback even tho at £2 for a 128gb flashdrive it was obviously a scam.
