i've had one worse buy ever quality is rubbish compared to a hard wired soloution

I've got one and I'm amazed at how it works. Can be a bit crackly at times but it's a fantastic little gadget for the price.

Would this work with an ipod?
and is there a better description for it somewhere? Is it simply an FM transmitter or does it do more?

thanks

yes you can use them with an ipod. Basically, you plug it in to the headphone dock on your mp3 player/ipod etc and it transmits an fm signal which can be detected by your radio - basically it turns your mp3 player into its very own radio station on its own frequency!!!

As mentioned before the quality is sometimes lacking but it is an ideal low cost solution. i would prefer however to upgrade to a steroe with an aux input which you can get for about £30 and hard wire it!

If using this with the ipod, does it still need to be plugged into the lighter?
thats a pain if it does as it prevents me using the satnav. Is there another alternative FM transmitter as i dont really want to replace my stereo. the cheaper the better as long as it works.

thanks for previous answer too

Does it return to the last song it played?

Ok for background music, but once you turn the volume up the crackle and distortion is really bad

yes, but starts that song from the start.

its fine for music, but not great for long podcasts/audiobooks unless your on a long journey.

It shouldn't matter if your using the axillary port on it - ie. plugging your existing MP3 player or iPod into it as the audio playback is controlled by the iPod and not the FM transmitter. It will resume playback wherever your music player resumes playback.

Do you have any voucher?

In the web it's 8.41.

No vouchers - it's $8.41 US Dollars - about £6.30. Use paypal to pay and it converts it for you.

You can get a 2 into 1 cigarette lighter power socket for a few quid on ebay that will solve that problem.

I would be playing music straight off an SD card or memory stick.

I recall I got a 3 way cigarette splitter from the pound shop some time ago for this exact reason!

Voted hot, I paid £14 for a similar one of these from ebay about a year ago. Be warned sound quality is a bit hit and miss with these things, depends on the car & car radio etc.

The remote is a nice touch
