No good for emergency, slow at charging and not for jump starting. Use mine to top up charge in winter.

Been using one of these for years now. Great piece of kit. I have made permanent connections to my car battery to enable easier connection as I leave mine attached to car battery when car not being used for a few weeks. My car has an AGM battery and it is fine as the charger is not a fast charger, and switches to a maintain mode when battery fully charged.

got this one and aldi one, both good chargers but aldi has voyage display.

damn spellchecker voltage

I have had one for a few years now I keep it on attached to a car for 6 months at a time whilst its not being used. It just trickle charges it once its fully charged brillant if thats what you want it for, good piece of kit to attach to a motorbike all over the winter when its not being used.

good find op, heat added

Use one on motorbike, very good and has led screen to show you voltage and condition of the battery, great buy.

the one in the photo above is the same as mine just LEDs indicating half or full. maybe the one lidl are selling now is update of this

Like another poster have one of these from Lidl from a few years back (ie the make/model they resold at that time) - and regard as a great VFM buy.

1.2 – 120Ah capacity so it's 12000mAh capacity? 3.8 charging rate so it's about 400A? I don't think it's worth the money. I have one battery booster with 150Ah 500A battery, which only cost me 30ish quid. I would call this a good buy.

The charger doesn't have a capacity.... its not a jump starter, its a battery charger.

I've got one from last year, charging 6V moto, 12V moto, car battery, auto stop funciton when the battery is charged, deffo will do the job, small in size too

not for a jump starting for sure...

Bought one of these last year from lidl and its great. Safe to leave attached to battery as it has "intelligent" charging.

I've been using one of these for years. It is an excellent trickle charger and particularly good for motorcycles as it senses 6V systems automatically.
This is really good value, I'll be buying another one tomorrow.

Do you have a Tardis too?

I've had one for about 100 years and agree it was worth every penny. Although a penny now was worth about a pound then, so the Lidl battery charger for my 1916 Model T cost me nearly £3,000. I had to sneak into the Austro-Hungarian empire to collect, which wasn't easy I can tell you! Crankingly good!

Will this charge a very Flat battery. The last 'intelligent' one wouldn't ?

If it's for a lawnmower, a new battery will probably be available cheaper than this charger
Check out ebay

If you can find a Ride on Lawnmower battery for under £13.99 then I'd love to see it.

So, Does anyone know if this will charge from flat...

Hi I've used one of these for years like some of the other posters here. I can't fault it and I have brought a battery back from flat. Smart original battery (think it was bosch) that was 9 year old sitting from when my roadster was off the road.

I think the cut off is 7v so no. What you need is a really old charger or an intelligent CTEK charger

Would this hold a battery at 12v?

For example.,, if the battery was already 12v.

What i need to do is flash one of my ECU's to upgrade the SW in it to the latest. So i need something for about 40 minutes to hold it at or as close to 12v as possible without it dropping voltage.

FYI. This will charge any 6v or 12v battery. Doesn't matter about what size. Difference is if its a Corsa battery it will take about a day & If its from a BMW (anything above 1 series BMs) It can take a week to charge.

If the battery is really flat ie not enough power for central locking to work or light up the dashboard display then your battery is quite knackered and not worth keeping. The reason is the batteries capacity & voltage will be significantly reduced. You will end up spending much more in petrol costs as the alternator will be working much harder to charge up the did battery every time you use it.

Thanks, that's exactly what I needed to know. 7v Cutoff. Thanks
