Yes
Title should make clear it's £4/month subscription on top.

Yes, it’s a £4 monthly fee!
Nice idea, but proper trackers are hidden in different places, and installed in difficult to access areas, so that a thief can't just take it out. Any thief worth their salt would take this out straight away

I presume this is for the generation that likes gadgets.

vodafone must have a ton of wasted bandwidth on their 2g & gprs systems that they made this to get 50 quid a year, nice idea and I wish more companies would realise this was is an emerging market.

Think of the money they could make with e sim versions and reasonably priced monthly deals!

Ya hear me mobile people?

So not GPS.

You'll not get an exact position as it will using cell positioning to give a rough location. Better off using an old phone that has GPS, a cheap data sim and a free service like greenalp and hiding the phone.

I have used this and you can setup a geofence (not free) if you're leaving your car somewhere for a length of time and have it alert you so you can check or track it. This costs me £4 a month for the sim and I think it's an old galaxy s2 hidden in my car.

Would you not need that attached to a power supply?
With the subscription this sounds like a terrible deal, compared to others on Amazon.

Yes you would. I have a hidden power outlet in my car with the phone plugged in. The drain is tiny and it's hidden away so you'd not find it without moving a lot of stuff (It's a VW transporter)

I quite like this idea of a DIY tracker. It's got me thinking about putting an old phone and powerbank to use. The powerbank would be kept charged as your drive the car and give some further protection. If you have wifi and Bluetooth off and just keep GPS and data on, I imagine you could keep a basic phone running for weeks on a 20000mah powerbank.

With an old Nokia 3210 or similar I’d suggest about 12 months as long as you don’t leave ‘snake’ running

£4 a MONTH...…………. HAHAHAHAHA - They are about 5 years too late to doing subscriptions.

Got a sim with £4 balance been going for 3 years alone without any further costs...

AVOID if you have any sense
