you are joking right??????

If not then you're more than likely going to die if you take another chance. Its not a gas leak, its CO poisoning, if you don't die you're probably doing irreversible damage.

Please dont use it again before you get it checked out by a gas safe engineer.

love your avatar!!!

Anyone who buys one please check the expiry date. As these alarms have a finite life, so will be interesting to know if that's the reason for cheap price.

EVERY home with a gas or LPG boiler should have one!

Only two weeks ago mine went off due a leaking seal on our boiler and saved my Wife and children coming home in the evening to house full of the stuff.

I bought mine a few years ago after a friend had discovered the flu on his boiler had been leaking for a while and this was the cause of the headaches he had been getting, which is a symptom of mild exposure to carbon monoxide, so I can't recommend highly enough.

if there's any left I'll check the expiry date today..I didn't buy one cos we got one from Aldi the other week for £11.99 which I thought was a good price...does say corgi approved and I seem to remember corgi have not been around for a few years ? but it also says 5 year warranty on the box.

great spot and a very much needed device for family safety

Please - carbon monoxide poisoning is common. If you rent, your landlord might be legally obliged to check the appliance. If you own your house, you can get a free check if you're on any means-tested benefits and there's a pensioner or young child in the house.

Look at gassaferegister.co.uk/ for more info.

Date of MFG: 2009, 03, 02
Replace by date: 03, 2017

Apparently will auto shut off after 7 years of operation, but will need replacing by then anyway. I'm not sure on the accuracy, 30PPM is mentioned but not in direct relation to the product as such.

Read the Manual.

EDIT: Actually I suspect it is 30ppm, I hadn't read the bit about the digital readout but it states in there that any reading below 30ppm will not trigger the alarm.

It could just be from your heater burning up the air in the room. Either way you should make sure that your room is adequately ventilated, your gas heater is tested and a carbon monoxide alarm is fitted.

Not what I got told by a heating engineer who was out to service our Worchester Bosch Combi boiler (gas)

I have one and have had for long enough, however he reckoned it was a waste of time as the boiler was designed so was no escape, not being into boilers I've no idea about this claim...but it cant hurt having it there

i bought one today, thanks op, these are good made by kidde , even 3 duracells included!

Windows is designed not to crash, doesn't mean it always performs as expected.

You're right Gas Safe replaced Corgi in April 2009. So at the time these were manufactured in 2009 (March) CORGI was still in place. Probably one of the reasons they are cheap.

still got 6 years life in them...so £1 a year still seem pretty good
