Wrong!, though I'm not sure if you actually believe this urban myth or whether you're just trolling.
Carbon Monoxide is actually slightly lighter than air so in theory it rises but in reality tends to diffuse evenly around the room so the position of the detector is not that critical. Best advice is to follow the instructions on the box.

Oh... maybe I'm thinking of hydrogen sulphide? Or something else completely different lol

Again wrong. Slightly lighter than air, hence why they should be on side of wall, just above boiler (or other appliance likely to give out CO) height. On the ceiling might be too late.

If you ever visit somewhere where they are training people to fit boilers (like British gas) they have the co detectors hanging down, almost boiler level, so theyll detect any, the moment they give any off.
Maybe thinking of methane?

Would this not be a better deal as 10 year one, it's also the one I bought us a bit back.
That's the one I'm waiting for they were around £8 3months ago but sold out before I got one, im hoping they will go down during black Friday🤞🤞
Kidde own Lifesaver so it's probably he same internals for the most part.
