A fantastic price for this Carbon Monoxide Detector, now reduced to just £3 at Woolworths!

Because it is colourless, odourless and tasteless, the toxic gas is hard to identify, despite its dangers. Lesser doses can cause headaches and nausea and heavy doses can be fatal. To make sure your CO levels are kept in check, it is recommended that you insall a detector in or near every room that contains a fuel burning appliance.

Features: Multi-Level Colour Change Sensor. Passive warning detection

Fantastic price, i did get one a year ago for £12 - but £3 is a steal!! Rep++

Great post - I've ordered three; one for me, one for my parents and one for my daughter who is going into digs at Uni!

Any P&P costs?

Any P&P costs?

You can order it online and collect at your local store for free - that is the cheapest option, otherwise P&P is £4.95 I believe greenfeld.

It seems you can get the exact same thing on ebay for £3.99 delivered

MOD edit - removed ebay link

welcome steve1905
we don't allow here ebay links

Thanks anyway Steve, but we don't allow eBay seller links on these forums.

Welcome to HUKd though

sorry about the link. No harm intended

is this electronic or just one of those cards?

I'm not certain, here's a close up:

In the description it states that no batteries are required and if you look closely there's a use period box - so this is just a card.

I've seen these type of cards for sale in shops at a little under £5 for two.

Now if it were electronic......

£25 for 1 card seems massivly overpriced and £3 seems about right. The confusing part is 'electronics' in the manufacturers name..... hmmmm not sure

Thanx Cat, I'll pop in to Woolies @ lunch

Welcome to HotUKDeals sadikp. Maybe if you get it at lunch time, you can tell us for definite if it is a card version, but I'm pretty sure it is from that pic.

I think the alarm at £10 is by far the better alternative...who remembers to look at a card?....an audible alarm..well that's different.
These cards are obtainable from ebay at £1.99 if you seach.

I cannot imagine they were priced at £20+...another woolie error?

Agreed they can be bought cheaper on ebay. There is no audible alarm, no much good if there is a leak when you're all asleep at night. Also it only seems to have a 12 month lifetime, then you have to renew.

Its definitely a credit card size, I bought one last winter from Woolies and It was on sale then and stuck it to my wall by fire, luckily its still on Normal and you have to replace it every year.

If it's a card TBH it's a waste of time.

You need the battery powered or mains powered ones to be more effective.

went to wollies at lunch and its just a card with a colour changing black on it. Not much good really i would think that its more worthwile to buy the £10 one

Aw well, thanks for the info anyway Chris, we apreciate you taking the time to post

And for those not in the know... wollies is the dumber competitor of woolies.... (!) Only kidding!

I had one of these - very cheap looking, not electronic, but seems to do the job okay. £3 is a very good price, as I say, I paid £12 a few years ago. The electronic ones are best, coz these only last 12 months, as has been previously stated.

Its a great idea for anyone that rents out property too - shows your a responsible landlord

Hmmm...£24.99 claims the woollies site; no wonder they couldn't sell them.

Saw these in store yesterday and as previously mentioned, they are just a disposable card type. Interestingly they were marked as clearance for just £3.00 as stated on their site...but the 'was' price was marked as £4.48 which is what edi posted these for 2 months ago

Bump,as they can now be had for £2.40 with FRIENDS code.

I wouldnt bother with these when the real deal can be had for £8.
These passive ones change colour when they detect Carbon monoxide, but if you put them in the kitchen they get choked with whatever is in the air like burnt toast and cooking oil After its been there a month you wont even remember to look at it any more, let alone remember what the colour was when you put it there.
Buy a proper battery or mains alarm.

What spin ..........under features It has" passive warning detection " . If my car fails its MOT because of no horn I may try the same line ??????????

I cant see it on there site:

You can never put a price on safety but for £3 it's a must have.

Check your smoke alarm too why you think about safety!
