Bit of a niche deal here. Please note this is not a full game, you need Carcassonne to play it.

I'm a big fan of Carcassonne and recently bought the "Big Box" from Amazon which includes a number of expansions such as "Inns and Cathedrals" and "Traders and Builders". However, it didn't include this one which is one of my favourite expansions and adds a lot to the game. Carcassonne expansions are often very hard to find (especially in English language boxes) but ZATU have the first 3 available at prices lower than you usually find them.

If you just have the basic game, they also have:
Inns and Cathedrals board-game.co.uk/pro…ls/
Traders and Builders board-game.co.uk/pro…-2/

Good plan...but read up about this one first! It's not to everyone's taste but adds two fun mechanics:
The Princess: when you play a castle tile with the princess icon, you can remove a Meeple from the castle you connect it to instead of adding one. This could leave the castle unclaimed, it could be used to claim back a Meeple of your own or if you're battling for control already, could leave you in line for the points.

The Dragon: when you play a piece with the Dragon icon, you take turns moving the Dragon piece around the board. The Dragon moves 6 times and you take turns moving him to an adjacent tile (he can't go back onto a tile he's already moved to). If he lands on a Meeple, he eats it and its returned to the player.

Interesting. I will keep it on the back burner just now. Still working through the big box expansions just now.

I have been playing a lot against family via zoom with this game it works really well. I have a Web cam looking directly down on my table and turn over the pieces for each remote player. I have grid system using some making tape with number on it at the side of the screen so they can give coordinates where they want to play a piece. It has worked perfectly.

That's a great idea! A lot of the mini expansions in the Big Box don't affect game play much and are just different ways to affect the scoring but this one really adds to the experience for me.

I'm leaving before I end up spending some money.

genius. I discarded the idea of playing this online via google meet because of the random picking of tiles, but i assume you have shuffled up all the tiles and then you just pick from the top of the pile each time? If so that is a genius idea

The wife and I successfully played Puerto Rico via Meet with the game set up at our end and we just moved all their peices for them.

cant wait to meet up for some actual games after all this though!
Yes. Just shuffle tiles and pick from top, and do this for all players in game to keep it fair. It worked well, and they could see tiles fine. I did have to point out when there was a garden on the tile as they had trouble seeing that. The camera had to be suspended about 4ft above the table to be able to see it all. This will differ by camera though.
