This is not true, any soap will destroy the lipid layer in most bacteria and viruses (including COVID-19) which causes the virus to stop working, it also helps to remove the fats on the skin that help the virus to stick. Most of not all medical experts agree that washing with soap and water is better than using alcohol based hand sanitizer. Hand sanitizer is great of you're not near a sink but please everyone if you can get to soap and water use that instead.
Any soap works. Google it. Doesn't have to specifically say handwash.
Whilst the Ocado site has been switched off, they've been busy deleting offers as fast as they can (you're allowed on only to edit a Sunday order). Well done Mirrisons for not profiteering

Two weeks ago these were 86p in Tesco - some the words ‘Morrisons’ and ‘not profiteering’ become strangely mutually exclusive...(pirate)

Agreed, there is no benefit to using anti bacterial soap, any soap (bar, liquid, washing up liquid, bubble bath etc.) will remove bacteria and viruses from the skin if used for 20 seconds as recommended.

The deal is that they could sell it for more than this but kept it at £1.00.

Your bog roll is now worth as much a Rolex.

You do realise "sanitiser" and "soap" are different things.
The recommendation is to clean your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds. If you don't have access to soap and water to use hand sanitiser.
If you are removing it from you hands by washing with soap and water you are less likely to infect yourself and to transmit it to surfaces that people will touch.

Perhaps some people have been drinking the washes. Folks, you put the stuff on YOUR HANDS.

Perfect, if one reads reliable sources I fail to see how so many can get it wrong. It does not bode well does it?

That's for Santiser gel. For hand wash any soap wash for 20 seconds works.
I managed to get some in our morrisons
and paracetamol in Asda!
If and when normality returns, I normally get them from Savers. They usually come with 25% extra at £0.99. Heat if you could get them anyway.
I think they should be doing more hand sanitizer as my hands are so sore from washing them with hand wash now 😔
Any alcohol with sterile water should work also, buy a bottle of vodka and mix it with sterile water in the little spray bottles you can get from pound shops.

It's got to be over 60% alcohol so I hope you've got some very strong stuff, especially if you're going to dilute it.
Erudite21/03/2020 11:46

Yes. Really hard. After struck regretting about not doing stock piling and now struggling for things.
Apparently if you haven’t got soap or hand wash then a little squirt of washing up liquid works too to thoroughly clean your hands.
Nice that they have it in stock (Sainsbury's restocked it too a few days ago), but that doesn't make this a deal, especially as £1 is the typical price.
They had other brands for £1 but 500ml rather than 250ml and still 99.9% antibac, paying for the name here.
Cold. It's soap
Water alone will help to wash virus off your hands.
Washing my hands in washing up liquid. This is like gold dust now.

No it won't
First of all you have to get into Morrison, My mate Fingers said its easier to break into a Bank than get into Morrison.

Hand sanitiser is just as bad If not worse! I used to use it after nappy changes when my daughter was really young and went through 10+ nappies a day. My hands were a wreck a week in! Having said that there were bigger challenges at that point in my life
