As per title, good quality oil, 5w30 and 10w40 amongst others, usually £22 upwards for 5litres so a very good deal. Buying up a few to keep for future use.

Who would vote this cold, that's £2.40 a litre?! You can't buy the cheapest most awful oil going for that price!

Yeah you can, you just posted a deal for it X)

Great find OP, I always use this oil in my car, best price ever.

Probably not much use for anything else, and the oil as well : /

Care to explain what is wrong with this oil?, before condemning it without any supporting evidence.

Specs for the various oils can be found here if you need them...

This stuff is made by Tetrosyl which is a reputable company.

Yes, excellent product from a very good brand, oh and this comes in 5 litre bottles, unlike the Castrol ones that come in 4 litre bottles.

Strange, they don't have any 4Litre sizes on their website.

Only 4 litre size Tesco Extra Borehamwood Herts as well. States only suitable for certain Cars mainly Ford, not suitable for GM/Vauxhall. Big end of isle display. Also had 10 40 semi which is suitable for GM Vauxhall if your car uses that grade/ viscosity.

Loads of people sell the 4l

I buy mine from Eurocarparts, it is always in a 5 litre container, it looks like they do the 4 litre ones for the supermarkets etc.

I think why the 5L ones have been reduced is that much like the other manufactures they are moving down to 4L. This is a bit of a pain for many motorists as lots of cars use between 4L and 5L so you have to buy a 1L one too which are always over priced.

Has anybody used PETRONAS SYNTIUM 3000 5W-40 at thats the cheapest oil in the grade I need? I understand Kia supplies it in their 12 plate cars.

I was told that Petronas (the Malaysian oil company) make some truly superb quality synthetic base oils. I also heard that Infineum (a company part owned by Shell & Exxon) ran a hugely expensive engine test program which Petronas paid for. On that basis, I'd say the Petronas oil is top notch quality. If it's cheap, then all the more reason to buy it.

Yes well it meets and exceeds all the requirements and never heard any bad stories about them but this is their new range and not much info on the net about it.

Hey and if its good enough for Schumacher then its good enough for me!

where have you seen ptronas for sale and how much?

Use Carlube all the time and have had no problems with it on any of the cars I've used it with. Plenty of 4L in stock at my local Tesco in Sheerness at 10am this morning. Good price for a good oil, voted hot! :-)

Petronas oil been sold by eurocarparts and they have 30% code at the momemt

Was it the same price £12?

I run an alfa twin spark engine which have slightly higher temp and pressure than other NA petrol engines(not a patch on diesel pressures of course) they have a habit of burning oil at up to a litre every 1000km! just like audi TT's
when using the recommended oil (fiats own brand of course) which is very expensive, it would burn, I switched to a low price oil due to money problems and the car ran much quieter, smoother and even got a tiny increase in MPG! it also hardly burned any oil, I was left with a whole 5lt can which saved me a few bob at the next service!

I now stick to cheaper oils - castrol is not rated at all in the alfa community, its seen as poor quality stuff

Meanwhile many motorists are moving down to 4l or less. Just can't find the spaces for a larger engine at a distance one can afford to commute into town from.

good price for good quality oil

Good price - I paid just under £20 for 5l of Carlube semi-synthetic 10w40 from Euro Car Parts last week.

HOT!
My dads been using this in his Saab's for years, definitely top stuff. Infact I look down on castrol as being a gimmick oil that car enthusiasts never rate. Mobil 1 is the best ofcourse.

I work in an autoparts shop, and CarLube is the brand we stock, its what all the garages and mechanics that come in use and we tend to steer people away from Castrol, you're just paying for the name!

Pity they don't do a motorbike oil. Voting cold.

(Just kidding!)

I know b-all about oil, and do under 2k in miles a yr, mot just done and oil a bit low, would this be fine for a 2.9 Diesel?

4L for £12 at Tesco Walkden. Got two anyway. They weren't with the rest of the oils, they were on their own stand at the other side of the store!

My Astra takes 5w30

Tried texting the number on the back of the can as it will recommend the correct oil for your car from the reg no - for my 58 plate Zafira 1.9 CDTI it told me to refer to the handbook!

lots of this in tesco's watford last night, dissapointed its only semi synthetic though

this fully synthetic one is a better spec but offer runs out today
