Also had 1 litre for £1, other grades available but didn't take note of what they where. This is in the old 4lt packaging.

I know from previous posts that some people like better "branded" oil, but its still got to be a great offer while available.

"Suitable for use in higher mileage petrol and diesel engines, including classic cars"

I know, I actually resized this before I posted. I hate to think how big the original would have been.

guess it could be used for flushing engine out before putting in the good stuff (castrol magnatec thats on offer)

Surely oil is oil? And I think this stuff will be good as long as the viscosity is right?

works great in my gxsr400 (1989)
hot thankyou

Very good £3. I've used Carlube oil before, its quite good, but I haven't used this particular one.

What manufacturer specifications does it meet?

Damn, just bought 5 litres for £15.99

high-res pic of the back would be useful to check specs

Reading up on this, at this viscocity its not really right for the country we live in, but if there are the other kinds then this stuff is great - its all the same im sure.

bought some cheap oil a couple of years back-had grit in the bottom !

store pacific as theres none in Derby.

This is cheaper than petrol.. (_;)

The correct oil for any car is the one advised by the car manufacturer.

Different makers/cars have different requirements.

not really, i'm basing it on Car Bibles:
"The idea was that because of the higher detergent levels in diesel engine oil, it might be a good cleaner / flusher for a non-diesel engine...Generally speaking, an SAE 15W/40 diesel engine oil for about 500 miles might do the trick."

Apologies, I thought you were referring to the car lube brand as a whole. I've been using the 5w40 for a while now.
