Carnation Sweetened Condensed Milk is only 89p just now. Usually around £1.50 and I think Tesco has it for £1 just now but this is the cheapest I've seen for a while. I use this in a lot of recipes like cheesecake, Banoffee Pie, cookies, tablet and fudge etc so its worth stocking up. 397g tin.

Coconut Ice, here I come.:p

Thanks.
Never tried coconut ice - may give that a bash. It's usually scottish tablet I make but not too often as its not good for you lol. Lemon cheesecake has been the favourite using this recently - its amazing!
I've temporarily killed my love for that, as my wife had me make it four weekends in a row. That's a lot of sugar...
Tis that - they would have me making it every week too if I let them but so unhealthy (tasty but naughty) X)

Hi coconut ice cream sounds lush . How do you make it
Don't think its ice cream - its just coconut ice, like a fondant/coconut mix made into cubes/squares and usually pink or white or a mixture. Never had it since I was a kid but I'm presuming that's what Quietus means.
Just me that drinks it straight then

I buy this too sometimes but find its too sloppy and doesn't set as good as doing it yourself. Its a great timesaver though and good at that price as normally nearly £2.

No, sorry, it's just coconut ice. It's a sweet treat.

Yup, that's correct, and it's sooo easy to make:

One tin of this condensed milk
350g of icing sugar
Between 275g and 350g of desiccated coconut

Just pour the milk into a large bowl.
Stir in all of the icing sugar. (It'll finish up looking like a beige paste)
Pour in all of the desiccated coconut. Hard to stir! If you use the lower end (275g) it'll be more of a sugary treat, whereas the higher end will make it more flakey / crumbly.
Scoop it all into a suitable size tray, about 2 or 3 centimetres deep, spread it out, and leave it on the side to set overnight. Cover it with a tea towel or something to stop any gross stuff getting in.
Cut it up into bitesize pieces, and scoff the lot! Enjoy!:p

Must admit I do that too - though I try to do it after I've used it for a recipe and scrape the bottom of the tin because if I started doing it before there wouldn't be a lot left!
