No point m8, was told it was the only one left full stop..... and despite it being a scorching deal, I wasn't about to post it and get ripped to shreds for lack of availability LOL.:w00t:
aparantly Halfords get their Kona stuff direct or by picking up 'small bulk of unsold stock ' I guess,
the guy checked the computer and couldn't find any anywhere, and his mate claimed it was the last one anywhere (halfords) as he had tried to locate one earlier in the week ...

was a cracking price though

6% quidco as well ( I think)

I bought this bike when this offer was on last time (although it was only listed at £230 then so came in at £184). I can honestly say, of all the things Ive bought from HUKD, I'm by far the happiest with this. Its a great bike. No nonsense, just does everything well

Depends if it's going to be a commuter; bling disc brakes tend to make Baz the thieving scrote pay more attention to your bike...

Sorry thats me out, way too far and the frame is too big! Thanks though!

I would be interested, I'm in North West London, where in Londont are you? Also would this be bike be ok for me, I'm 5'7? Also what is the condition, how old etc?

Despite being from Halford this is exactly the sort of bike all the idiots who post and buy £100 full suspension bikes ought to be after.

Ok, it's never going to win any races but for nipping to the shops and back or the occasional sunday afternoon bike ride this type of bike is ideal.

This will be lighter, more efficient, safer and faster than a dual suspension, plastic brake levered 30kg bike shaped peice of metal.

Blatantly not, cranks/gears/pedals/cassette/shifters are all lower quality, & it has the old style threaded headset/quill stem.

I would say it'll probably be on the large size. It might be worth testing it out though.

Hybrid geometry is slightly different - but I'm 6 foot and ride a 19 inch mountain bike.

I might be interested. Will be in London next week and could pick up, can you post some pictures? How long have you had the bike, have you had to replace any parts? Thx in advance for info.

Also, which part of London are you in?

What a boost, was in the process of looking for a bike for commuting. Saw this in Halfords when I was looking at the GT. I was torn between this one, the said GT and also one at the Edinburgh Bike shop but this deal seals it.

Cheers op

Looks nice.

Reserved one today to collect. Have to wait 3 days if you want it built so picking it up Thursday.
Went instore first to check out the quality and to see what frame size i needed. Was going to get the 'Subway 2' but the chap in the shop was nice and honest and said this was the better bike as the disc brakes on the 'Subway 2' are cable operated and always wear one pad out, need constant adjustment and bend discs and this is the same for all cable operated disc braked bikes. Said the only bikes to get with disc brakes are the ones with hydraulic disc brakes as it eliminates all these faults but they are only to be found on much dearer bikes.
Thanks OP.

Bought one Saturday. Got to wait to wait until 5th April for delivery to Dover store. Was going to have it built, but that would have been another 3 days.

I bought one of these a few months back wehn they were 30 % off.
I have really enjoyed using it, so light in comparison to any bike I have had. Enjoy it !

Hi All,

I am about to buy a five year old Carrera Subway 1. Does anyone here who may own one have any thoughts or advice about the older model manufactured around 2004-2005? Are they just as good as the new models released in the last couple of years? I would be grateful for any information from you wise lot at hotukdeals

Cheers

Decided to buy one, thanks OP

Ordered one today after checking other retailers and chatting to a mate who's into bikes, Thanks for the spot:thumbsup: Shame you gotta wait 3 days for them to build it:lazy:

Ordered mine on Monday and although it said it would be ready in 3 days I got a call from the store the next day to say it was ready to collect. Well impressed with the bike - it's light, quick, agile and looks pretty smart. Unfortunately the bloke who served me was a muppet and pretty unhelpful apart from wanting to sell me accessories - told him I hadn't ridden a bike for a long time and asked him to show me round it but he said it's self explanatory and everything's been set up so I don't need to touch anything. Anyway, figured it out myself after a shakey start and think it's gonna be ideal to get me to and from work safely and get me in shape a little. Cheers OP.

Thanks OP, bought and assembled today. Only tried it round the corner but it feels good, will go on a longer ride tomorrow

Thanks for this post OP! You made me spend nearly £400 on Easter Sunday

Have been looking at bikes all weekend. Saw this instore yesterday but thought £250 a pop was too much.

Got one for me and one for the wife today.

Might be a daft question... the instruction are useless though... anyway the handlebars can be made higher??

Thanks in advance to anyone that answers.
