Doesn't look very nice imo but nice carbon fork and decent Claris groupset. I think the wheels will let it down.

What can you expect at this price point? The nearest competition for this is the B'Twin 500 SE, and that doesn't have brilliant wheels....

Swings and roundabouts really. I just borrowed my Dad's 500SE and did the London to Brighton at the weekend. I think it's a fantastic bike for the money, and the 3 cogs at the front really helped for the climbs. This only has 2 cogs, so you may find you run out of gears, you may not. Depends on your legs. This has Claris groupset, the 500 doesn't.

I would say you couldn't go wrong with either as a starter bike, but I would really recommend trying both in the shop if you can.
