What a bargain for coffee drinkers!

Came across this yesterday in Poundland, I drink carte noire at home and usually pay between £3-£4 for 100g so when I saw this I pretty much took the shelf lol.

Not sure if it's nationwide

Thanks I only drink this one and was shocked the other day at the price in Sainsbury's.

Good price, I'm not a massive fan of this coffee tho. ASDA at the moment are selling 4 100g Kenco Smooth for £5 .. Bargain, and very good coffee (for instant).

Thanks op. Will have a look tomorrow. Added heat:)

This is my favorite coffee but i'm almost sure this is not the real stuff. I bought some from BnM and it just did not taste the same. The one in BnM had the price printed in the label whereas i have never seen this anywhere else. For this price i suspect its sourced from the same suppliers. Its not a bad tasting coffee but you can definitely taste the difference between this and ones bought from Asda, Tesco etc.

They do many slight variations of this coffee. It does say what type it is on the jar tho. Could this be it?

No its the same one. As far as im aware there is only one variation of classic carte noire in the black jar.

I have opened and drank about 6 cups out of it and can't tell the difference from ones bought in co-op or asda. Hope this helps

I doubt there will be a difference between this and the supermarket sold ones. Excellent find from OP

I can't envisage it being anything other than the same coffee tbh. I've never heard of Carte Noire doing a "lesser" tasting coffee... and can't see they'd package it exactly the same.

Of all the instant coffees, I much prefer Carte Noire... a heck of a bargain price! Heat added

A second sighting would be good;?Are pounland likely store specific

has anybody had the original Nescafe from B&M? it's minging.

hate this stuff.
yuck!

I ♥ this coffee. far far better than nescafe

I prefer nescafe

I'd prefer to have it in my pound land but there are none..

best instant coffee you can get

Nestle change the taste for different markets as you will know if you have had Nescafe on holiday. So perhaps this is imported Carte Noir blended for another market.

Not in Neath.
Where exactly did you find this deal OP?

Great Yarmouth also this is in lowestoft too

Not real coffee, but for those that don't care, its a great price.

The supermarket pre ground crap from carte noire is also nice tasting if you can't manage to buy any fresh coffee from the likes of HasBean etc.

great price, thanks OP

Not a real coffee? Is it a pretend coffee then? Or coffee flavoured powder oO
And actually I can manage to buy a fresh coffee which is not as nice as you think. Expensive coffee doesn't mean good.
It's all personal preferences.
For me number one coffee is Lavazza.

Its coffee flavoured hot water.

Instant coffee granules stopped being real coffee a long long time before it hit the shelf.

And no one said expensive coffee makes it good. Starbucks is living proof of overpriced average beverages.

And again, that Lavazza you buy is already stale and tastes nothing like it's supposed to. There really is no beating a freshly roasted bag of beans.

I'm not against the alternatives, heck I drink RocketFuel instant coffee at work because I just don't have the time to play around with the filter machine for 15 mins. It's disgusting but gets the job done. DeathWish has pretty much made me tolerable towards even the worst tasting instants.

That's a better explanation and I will agree.

Starbucks is an overpriced crap worse than anything else for me

Yipppeee great price for us coffee-flavoured-water drinking scumbags! ty op!

Has Carte Noir changed it's formula recently....it just doesn't taste the same ?

yeah used to be 100% Aribica (that was its USP)
Now it just says ''Aribica Rich''

It doesn't taste as robust or as strong now
I wil be looking at changing brands now after along time loyal

Thought it was just me, so they've used cheaper ingredients but charge the same price - ah well years of loyalty down the toilet. Any recommendations on similar tasting to the old stuff?

Will be experimenting, but will stear clear of those instants that are sold as instant espresso type, as its blatantly just made the same process without removing 100% of coffee bean residue.

Oooh I do quite like Carte Noire (and I have a bean-to-cup machine). I'm going to get a few!

I didn't know that. I used to buy it for a long time before I got my machine (over a year ago). I'll give it a go when I see it in Poundland. Got to be better than Nescafe Instant, or Maxwell House etc!

nice find OP
but I am the only one here who prefers a good ol' cup of tea over coffee?

Pretentious, elitist, wannabee-wine-snob drivel from start to finish.

Hot deal

Cheers
