Exactly what I had already done! Also wrote to Halfords and cc'd in cartyres.com. They supply is still there because i wsa able to book again at a higher price, not that I am taking up the order.
They have failed with my order as well... leave them negative feedback at trustpilot - thats what I've done
I agree and I would not have had them fitted but when does summer start and winter end? (you can not take them off when you have a dry day) - I am sure they would have fallen apart even if it was colder (en-fact I remember seeing other people complaining when I was reading through reviews) - but as you say the insurance company might try it although I don't know how they would get on - are people expected to under stand what tyres they have on there car? and presumably they would have to prove it caused the crash (having too much grip from soft tyres does not usually cause a crash)
What about grip on roundabouts and turns with winters on front and summers at the back ?... it will result in rear skidding ! Using winter tyres during summer - they are designed to be used in low temperatures( and wear will be much higher if used on summer as well), don't you think that insurance company might refuse claim seeing winter rubbers fitted during summer ?
both front and back about 1.5 years old - brand new when put on, last owner put the on and due to the strange size the tyre shop sold him winters for the front (245/45r19 on the front 275/40r19 on the back (factory sizes)) - can not see why it's a lethal idea handles well as it has more grip on the front and I personally can not fault the handling in wet or dry - still don't think winter tyres used in the summer should fall apart (even though I understand the point - and the back ones are just like big drums)
