back when there was no internet to show the world your ignorance, so it remained fairly localised.

back when u had rubbish like thatcher, yer great times

These things last years. And can take a beating. This design just works. Why change it?

Just ordered one, thanks

Alright for 6 quid, heat added and purchased, cheers!

I still have mine from about 1976 and it has never let me down! I've changed the battery 6 or 7 times and the strap twice and it still looks as good as new. As it's not broke I won't buy another one but still hot!

Now we've got rubbish like Cameron and Clegg to go with Thatcher and Major.
(Not that Labour - the politically correct's glove puppets, are that much better, I'll admit)

This casio is like the nokia 3210 in the watch world!

Are they waterproof? I want one for my bike.

You arent clever mate, nor funny.

Aren't these normally around this sort of price anyway?

Brrr, it's cold and horribly bleak in here.

CLASSIC watch. Had mine for 12 years and not had to change the battery so far. The alarm goes off every morning though, anyone know how to switch it off?

If your budget can't stretch to double figures for a watch, but you do still want something that won't make you feel like you want to end it all every time you look at it, how about this for just £3.86 DELIVERED from amazon = B0072H670G

Hmmm, the battery has lasted 12 years so far WITH THE ALARM GOING OFF EVERY DAY? Are you sure?

P.S. Have you tried bashing it with a hammer?? That's what I would do if it bleeped wantonly every morning and I was somehow not technical enough to work out how to stop it.

I use one of these for work, i stack shelves on nightshift. My previous watched were always getting caught on the shelf above when i was filling/pulling the stock forward and it was ripping the metal strapping of the watch. They all ended up in the bin. No probs with the mighty casio. I also had one of these when i was a kid.

don't think even my grandpa will like it...

Yup, don't wear this if visiting Afghanistan or Iraq.

The preferred timepiece of all good international terrorists.

You've got that the wrong way around. The tories aren't much better than the rubbish that got us into recession. Spent money the country didn't have, much of it on pointless and failed projects. Sold the country's gold cheaper than anything on HUKD and took us into illegal wars our grandchildren will be paying for.

Nostalgia maybe?

The term nostalgia describes a sentimental longing for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations.[1] The word is a learned formation of a Greek compound, consisting of νόστος (nóstos), meaning "homecoming"

You'll find the best of 1980s cars and motorcycles have doubled in price in recent years, mostly through nostalgia and people wanting something who's design stands out, rather than looking the same as everything else after designs peaked years ago.

Bought one a year ago for my young son. Looks like the watch wasn't waterproof and the LCD screen went a bit funny.

Still, they're that cheap that I've bought a new one for him. Heat added.

Who says i was trying to be?

Man, buying this watch somehow determines your social class?
Bravo.

Watch out for fakes.
Yes , i know its strange ( with it being a cheap watch) , but their are lots of copies of this watch around. Just check ebay.

Big fan of these watches, hot

Ooops I "Liked" Shoesizes comment by accident.

Is there a way to cancel this?

Lol this thread is funny. Its just a watch!!!

nice deal, looks the same as mine which I paid about £9 for.

To get so excited over a six pound watch... wow!

Jesus, it's a good, branded watch at less than £7. Either vote hot or cold and buy it if you want to. Don't understand why bitching and politics have slipped into this deal.

I'd buy one if I hadn't just bought a G-shock the other day.

Once again people get this watch confused with the cheap Casio watches from the '70s and '80s this is not the same watch, this came out in the early '90s
